Subject: Are athletes ruining higher education?

I mean come on, students with intelligent minds and high iqs, they are easily getting in, with an academic scholarship, but in a way most of the athletes cheat their way to the top of "the totem pole" so to speak, with the Dean or even the High school principals, as good referrals.  I am not saying they don't deserve to go to Colllege, but they should do their homework and not slack off as much as they do.  I am not saying they should do as well as everyone else, but work as everyone else works, earn your way to the top.

What is your big problem with today's Universities, what is your main problem, if not athletes.

I might be getting off topic a bit here but the problem I have with todays universitys are the high cost and yet they are getting alot of state funding, Its getting harder and harder to send a kid to college. Back in '84 when I graduated HS it just broke the 10,000/year mark now its past 40K well on its way to 50K.

It's late so I'll try to make it short.  First off, I think some of the Majors they offer are worthless. What kind of job can you get if you major in Womans studies or African American studies?   Cal Berkley had a male sexuality class ran by students where they had an orgy.  Thats our tax dollars at work.   Many professors at these universities are socialists nutcases and they push a  socialist agenda on their students.   History is taught in such a way that students at these universities hate their own country.  It upsets me that my tax dollars are paying for a kid to get a worthless education.

I don't know of any state schools that cost that much if you are in state, unless you are talking about 4 year.

I am talking about the maximum that one would pay to go to a  good school say Harvard, Yale, MIT. Sorry I should have stated that I was shooting for the expensive schools (private)
