Subject: Movie Downloads/Filesharing

They're good to ease the impatience of waiting for movies to come out into the theatres or out on video.

In general, at least in my experience, the resolution is awful and they're not in stereo.

If you're going for spoilers, seeing the flick for free or are too impatient to wait for transition times, it's worth the time, disks and efforts to download.

If you're going for anything more than that it's not worth it.

That's my opinion, of course.

Anyone care to comment on this issue?

I could always stand a bit more info, you know.  ;)

I am not against filesharing movies because the box office charges so much to see one, but who has the time.  Unless you have highspeed you will wait an eternity to get a movie downloaded.  Hmmm, six hours and internet traffic equals to a few years of download time....that would make for a very tired computer.  Besides with some ISP's if you aren't actively searching the web, even while downloading, you are booted.  Hey, I think I will just save my pc some work and buy the video or DVD.

Peace,
A'isha

If one has a cable connection, for example, download time's not an issue.

Personally, I do it because I'm not patient enough to wait for certain movies to come out on video/dvd.

I buy the movies once out on the store shelves because I need good quality, more than anything.

But there's always this lag time between the time a movie is shown in the theatres and when it is finally released on video/dvd.

I can't wait that long! So, I download and get my less than perfect fix.  ;)
