Joe Dirt - Laughed my butt off! :D And it has a good ending. I give it a "thumbs up" for fun.

Jason X - This below-standard "camp" made the first few "Friday The 13th"s look like Oscar contenders. Definitely not scary. I think I actually chuckled once. Unbelievable.  ::)Don't waste your time, IMO.

Snow Dogs - I thought it was hilarious (and I'm a grown-up)! ;D Definitely a good family movie.

Resident Evil - The critics were pretty harsh with this one. I thought it was in the "will probably scare the beegeebees out of you" category. If anything, for me it was the premise in which the movie's based - genetic testing of the twisted kind. Who knows what the heck some crazy companies/corporations/governments/scientists are doing behind closed doors or underground, in real life.  :o The thought of that kind of thing happening is truly horrifying. Of course, the consequences of this particular kind of genetic testing in the movie are the finishing touch. If you like horror/action combo, you'll probably like this one. The girl in the movie, the same girl from the movie "The 5th Element", pulls off some impressive moves as well.

Spirit - I'm not keen on the whole Disney marketing machine, but they have created their share of gems and this one's one of them. It tells a good story and the animation is breathtaking. Another Disney triumph, IMO.

Blade 2 - I liked the first one alright. This one was not as good as the first, IMO. I actually didn't like it.

Just thought I'd share!  ;)

I Just watched these two:

Oceans Eleven:   a fun movie with a lot of big name stars. The Basic plot is Danny Ocean (George Clooney) gets eleven people to try to rob three Las Vegas casino's that are owned by his X-wifes husband.  the twists never end!

The Sum of All Fears:   An interesting pre-9/11 Lokk at terror.  The first half of the movie is pretty realistic and suspenseful.  The second half is pretty ridiculous, but that shouldn't stop you from seeing it.   I almost didn't go see it For this reason:  In the book the terrorist were Arabs, but politically correct Hollywood changed them to Neo-Nazi's, God Forbid we offend the same people that flew airplanes into the twin towers. ::)

I have heard both good and bad reviews from people. (I usually don't pay attention to the critics)  From what I hear, you either really like it or you really don't like it.

Hey there Hairspray not to bust your newly elevated image of Disney, but its not Disney.. It's Dreamworks interactive (The Spielburg company-they also did the Prince of Egypt) who did
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron...

It is a good flick.. I took my niece to go see it!  :D

I watched "Spider-Man" recently...it was good, but not great. On a 1-to-10 scale, I'd give it a 7 1/2 or an 8.

Wow! I am waaay out of touch as to what is being played nowadays. I mean, has anyone else, but me, seen Jean-Luc Goddard's Les Carabiniers? :P Alphaville? Um, I would highly recommend Bertrand Blier's Get Out Your Hadkerchiefs and Beau Pere - except, how keen is everyone on subtitles? Personally, I think dubbing something into English kind of ruins some of the drama and effect the from the original tone of voice that the certain languages use.

Ahem. Well, I also saw a movie called Series: 7, which is a take on the "reality" shows of these past few years. The premise is that in present-day USA, people join some sort of National lottery in which people are randomly picked to played a "death" match (a sort of Dangerous Game/human hunting-type of game - THINK: The Running Man). The style they use is much like one of those game shows in which Hi-8 cameras are used to make it look like a home-movie (and, thus, give a more "real" touch - I don't know how better film stock would make something look less "real," but that's the way they filmed this thing anyway...). It's a weird movie and I hoped to see more realistic game-play. If I was being hunted down, there's no way in fecking heII I'm staying around in my house or hang out at a mall or follow the lead of some stranger's note. Perhaps, I should give it another look, but it did try my patience. The idea was good, but the movie-makers failed to carry it into its proper fruition, I think...

Hmm...
We go to the drive in a lot, so I see more movies than I can name just now.   ::)
But.....
I did see "Spider Man"...liked it, but Kirsten Dunst really bugged me for some reason.  The movie was pretty good, all of us went (me, hubby, and both kids) and everyone seemed to like it.

Saw "Star Wars Episode 2--Attack of the Clones".  It was alright..a lot more action than Episode 1 had, so my husband liked it much better.  Me, well, *ducks* I'm not real into Star Wars anyway, never really have been.  Plus I spend the whole movies now trying to figure out how the "new" ones relate to the "future" movies.  ::)

Recently rented:
"From Hell"...it was really gruesome to me..not real impressed.

And "Mullholland Drive"...all I have to say is What The Hell??

And we recently saw "Insomnia"..not bad.  A little strange, but whoever thought Mork from Ork could play a bad guy so well?

That night we also saw "Murder By Numbers"..again, not bad, and I usually really like Sandra Bullock, but it wasn't one of her best, IMO.

Man, this sounds so bad.. I really do like some movies...just haven't seen any new ones lately that really "moved" me. ::)

I saw "Unfaithful" a couple of weeks ago. Pretty racy sex scenes then it got sort of disturbing. All in all, it was good.

I'll agree he's a damn good actor and was excellent in Moulin Rouge but he's never really been my cup of tea lookswise.A bit like Tom Cruise I can see what other people see in him but he doesn't do it for me. I did see Ewan in Star wars episode 2(again!!) on sunday. We took my parents to see it.

I saw the Ya-Ya Sisterhood on Saturday morning.  I really liked it.  It's definitely one of those "chick movies".
