Subject: "Dapper Don"docudrama

Written By: jamminoldies on 06/17/02 at 07:25 p.m.

I was figuring out who could play John Gotti in a documentary or docudrama sometime in the near future. My guess(es) would be:

-Marlon Brando.
-John Travolta.

Anybody else who thinks someone could portray John Gotti in his next movie film on TV? It would have to be someone of an Italian background. -howard-  :)

:-*This is my first time posting as I just found this site and boards, so bear with  here lol ... I don't know about who should play johnny next but Armand Assante in HBO's GOTTI was execellent ... his portrayal was a eerie true to form impression of John.
Although the movie had a ton of mistruths and bit one sided , it was an execellent movie nonetheless.

Please elaborate. I'm afraid I never saw the movie.

Good morning. The HBO GOTTI was heavy on the drama (which is good) but there was many facts and timelines that were wrong or misleading. Certain indivduals in the movie were made out to be not what they are or were in real life. In all dramas that is taken from real life stories there is a certain aspect that will be altered But this movie was so full of half truths innuendos and twisting of the true plot that one might think they didn't even check for authenticy before going through with the script. I Lovvved the dashing and at times imposing actor Armand Assante. William Forsyth was also excellent as Sammy. I own this movie and have watched it several times as the acting is quite good. I believe Armand won a award for this portrayal of John. My "beef" if one will is with the facts ... I just wished "Hollywierd" lol ... would get their act together and quit changing the facts esp in a biodrama as this. Thank you for making feel welcome  :D
