A firefighter is charged with starting the Arizona fire.  I know times are tough, but ruining 450,000 acres because you need a job? I don't think times are that tough.

But I don't understand her motivation though, she was a federal employee, all she had to do was sit on her ass for twenty years and she gets a pension. No offence to all you hard working federal employees out there, are there any?

I've heard of dirty cops before, but dirty firefighters?!!! That would have been unheard of 30 years ago. Maybe out "heroes" in the west had better rethink how these folks are hired. Background checks, past history, criminal activity. These should have been considered before these nutsos were given the trust in our lives and property. I hope these will be just aberrations instead of bad omens. :-/

You have to wonder what this world is coming to.  I mean, starting a fire so you will have a job?  Go to an employment agency already. >:(

Maybe the film "Blowback" ("backdraught" or whatever it was called - you know the one where it turns out to be a fireman setting the fires) ought to be banned...

The chap they've charged is a contract firefighter - it does rather suggest that the safest way to run a fire department is not on piece rates...

Evidently, the culprit here in AZ has always had a pyro fixiation.  Good canidate to FIGHT fires, eh?  Kinda like one of those demented kids that torture small animals becoming a vet.

Here's a little more on our Mr Fire:

The movie was called "Backdraft" in the US. But movies shouldn't be an excuse for criminal activity. This man was wrong in any case.

...that's because I forgot to add one

The sight of a smiley that isn't there must be similar to the sound of one hand clapping...
