A toddler was found dead on the same day a case worker claimed she visited him.  I hope she's fired. I need a job maybe I can get her's.

This just makes me so mad.  I will never understand how anyone can be so inhumane as to beat a two year old baby for soiling his pants.  Kids have accidents when they are training.  If they aren't trained yet, where are they supposed to go.  The news here said that the babysitters had children in state custody in Nevada because of abuse.  Why would you give your children to people like that? >:(

Yes, I heard about this. That poor, poor child. I hope everyone responsible for his death burns in hell!

Sterilization... it should be mandatory.

edited to add: I know this wasn't his child, but if he would so this to any child he is not fit to be a parent!

I, too, was disgusted when I read about this.  Hard to believe irresponsible folks like this, that actually lie about a job that is so important can continue to be hired to jobs like this in the first place!  >:(

Florida, Florida, Florida......no offence to anyone from there...but can they do anything right anymore??

I have to echo the sterilization part, but not blaming the welfare part. True, she sucks at her job and should be fired... but how do we expect to have intelligent, responsible, hardworking individuals tending our children when we don't pay them a living wage? (I'm thinking public schoolteachers here too.) We get what we pay for, folks.

They need to fry these people.  Sterilization is just not enough.  I can understand a spanking on the bottom when a child is naughty, but soiling his pants?  For God's sake, accidents happen!  Beating a child to death for anything, let alone something so trivial just makes me so mad I want to buy a gun and execute these people myself!  Hearing about people who beat their children, or kill thier children is one of the few things that will turn my stomach, and make me cry.  And I think our legal system is way too soft on child abusers.  It needs to be kept in mind that these dregs of society are beating on the weakest beings on earth, babies and small children, who RELY on them for safety, protection, love, survival.  To abuse them is the ultimate affront in my book...

I didn't read the article because it never came up. But I think the Florida child welfare system needs to be revamped soon. I would suggest background checks in the social workers, a log listing all the employees, an electronic system to know the whereabouts of these workers. And highlight the children that are endangered by abusive or homicidal parents. I can't believe a state run by the President's brother can screw up something as important as child care services. On second thought, I can. :-/
