Subject: Eminem or Moby?

Written By: southernspitfire on 07/14/02 at 10:45 p.m.

As I am sure you are all aware....there is no love loss between these 2 guys....Eminem disses him in his new song and right after that Moby shows up with an "I LOVE EMINEM" t-shirt on SNL...I personally like them both....both are on opposites ends of the music world...but why all the fuss between the two of them? !!

If I had to pick, I would have to go with Moby...although I don't know that much of his music.  I just dislike Eminem...
I would imagine Moby wearing that t-shirt was kind of like Shawn Fanning, from Napster, wearing that Metallica t-shirt!  ;)

Eminem. I don't really like Moby's music that much.

I think Moby has quite an interesting take on techno music. I think his treatment of it is more as an artform than just techno for techno's sake. He's been around longer than that other upstart and will more than likely be around longer, also.

Moby, I bought his album play, and it was great album, I like every single song on it.  Although I have since gotten sick of southside, over and over w/gwen (the original album wad a version w/o her).  I would never purchase a rap CD and espicialy not one by someone who has to resort to such ploys as using Dick Chenny's wife.  Eminem is anoying, moby's is soothing. plus, Moby play's his own insturments and mixes his own tracks.  The only reason eminem is popular is because he is so contriversial.

If given only these choices, Moby. But it's a bit like saying "do you want to stick your tounge in the wall socket, or have me tie you to a railroad, ala Snidley Whiplash?"  ;D

Damn many people seem to hate Eminem.  So what is he's full of hatred.  He brings a different style of rap to the game.  Dr. Dre said once on ultimate albums that E would rhyme words that almost sound like they wouldn't go together.  His last album "The Eminem Show" is great!  How can you not like it?  I understand his last album about the music/gay/women bashing but it was all a joke, why can't people see past that?
I seen some where on this thread about let's see him bash the black/hispanic community.  He won't 'cause he has much respect for them.  The reason he dissed Kirk from on of the boy bands was because he had the nerve to say something back.  He ain't gonna let no one get the last word.  And yes I'm here to stick up for his music.

Moby just sucks, I use to listen to techno and him well it just sucks.  I like more of Chemical Brothers type of techno.

I don't consider Moby a true techno artist, I hate techno but I like Moby, I think a lot of people posting are not familiar enough with either of thier music to make a judgement.

I really don't like either one but if I had to decide, it would have to be Moby. I just can't stand Eminem.

I like 'em both! "Play" is frequently in my car stereo, and I've already gone on record, much to my dismay, of not being able to get, "This looks like a job for me, so everybody just follow me, 'cause we need a little..." out of my head oh see, now I'm bouncing again. Get me, thinkin' I'm fly and all that.

Still. I think it's all just publicity. Ploys. Stunts. Don't trust any of it people, they're celebrities. They don't mean anything that they let you see unless their PR people have okay-ed it.

LOL.  I'm with you there, lang.  "Without Me" is catchy...

I like most Moby material up to and including the Everything Is Wrong album.  "Next Is The E (I Feel It)" is one of my faves.  If I had to choose between the two, it would be Moby.

True, my kid cousins adore it. It's quite funny to hear a 4 year old singing 'Two trailer park girls go round the outside' - but it gets old, real fast. Its just the 'pop' beat - it just attracts the children. I have his last album and I don't think there would be many songs on that which a kid would like. Eminem just seems to always release a childish, gimmicky song as the first release of a new album, just to get people hooked on the beat, and purchase the CD. That's my opinion.

Back to the original question. You really cannot compre two such different artists in my opinion. I used to like Eminem, but not so much anymore. I also wouldn't even call Mobys music 'Techno' - it's much more placid than anything I'd call Techno.

Seems that people have no room for idealism anymore.  Even on an Internet fourm there is no room for freedom of speech.  I would love to come up, I am fighting...fighting not to.  You think I am gonna spend the rest of my life with someone cuz he can get me a deal on a box of nails?

Free speech has no bearing or application on a private messageboard, which this is.  Don't even try to go there, this is NOT a public forum, it is privately owned.  You have no legal or constitutional rights here.

Why thank you, But just one question.  How do you expect to get peoples honnest opions on a prvately owned forum that has no constitutional rights because I for one think that this website is awesome and should be used however the users want.  If people want to Hate then let them hate they are only making the forum stronger.  Furthermore, Simple Plan sucks.

Quite simply.  Honest opinions are asked for.  Abuse and a**holishness aren't.  Everyone is welcome to post their opinions, provided they fall within the established guidelines.  Yours are failing to do so.  This site IS used however the users want, but that does NOT include being a dork.  When you post antagonistic replies, and belittle OTHERS opinions, that's when you are forced to realize YOU have no rights here, and never will.

I guess if I were asked again today I would say Moby.  I never really liked either of them but I'm starting to like Moby a little more.  He's definitely not one of my favorite artists though... he does have some good songs though.

The day I am left with such a godawful choice is the day I realize I have finally landed in Hell :)

Who would I rather listen to? I'll take the Pepsi Challenge on this one: Would I rather listen to either one of these hacks or eat a mayonnaise and baking soda sandwich? I like mine with not too much baking soda, please :P
