Subject: Has anyone seen the George Michael video?

Written By: Criz on 07/19/02 at 12:15 a.m.

I heard there's some controversy about it over in the States - and quite rightly too! What do the people who have seen it think. I have to say its pretty tongue-in-cheek ( in a harsh kinda way), and takes the p*ss so much out of Blair, Cherri, and Bush a hell of a lot - even Geri Halliwell, who's supposed to be one of his friends!

as for the subject, I haven't seen the video, but I still think it's just a publicity stunt.

Soooo, does that mean you lost interest in Queen too? REM, Judas Priest, B-52s, Erasure, David Bowie, The Bronski Beat, Melissa Etheridge, k.d. lang? James Dean, Rock Hudson, Montgomery Clift, Anthony Perkins, and many other artists of a similar pursuit? Yeah, I lost interest in their work ever since I found out they were of a different persuasion... NOT! ::)

Nothing. It's rubbish. If it hadn't been for all the averse publicity, it would have disappeared from sight within a week or two of release.

Basically Banasy - here is a sum up of the plot! Im cartoon form - the video depicts our Prime Minister and his wife, and the President as being in love with each other. Blair loves America, Bush treats Blair like his little dog to do his dirty work, and Blair loves it. It shows that Bush is childlike, immature and practically illiterate in a way! It basically takes the p*ss out of these people - even goes as far as Geri and the Village People. To be honest, I'm surprised Bin Laden didn't pop in somewhere - or did i just miss that bit?

Believe it or not -

Rumor has it George Michael has been asked to compose the theme song to the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece.  :o

I guess his publicity stunt paid off.  ::)

What were they thinking?

George Michael has indeed turned into another has-been freak of the show business world. I cannot help but have a very low opinion of him. It's a shame too. I thought he did some fair material in his Wham days and some in his solo efforts up to the early 90's.

George Michael has no self respect. Once that is lost....

What else is there?

The 2004 olympics will be tarnished if this goes unchanged.

This will be decided in the court of public opinion, for sure.

I really liked his music, I think "Too Funky" was his first song I didn't really like, after that it was downhill, with a couple of small peaks (mainly in 96).

As for the olympics, they don't need anything thats going to stir a debate, especially after this skating fiasco.

I'm guessing they only chose him beacuse a) he's pretty famous and b) he's Greek. Trust me, I know what the Greeks are like :)
