Subject: Songs You're Sick of Hearing

Written By: lebeiw15 on 07/23/02 at 12:01 a.m.

O-Town-  "All or Nothing"
Jimmy Eat World- "The Middle"
Enrique Iglesias- "Hero"
Sheryl Crow- "Soak up the Sun"

I understand that they are still popular, but those are the ones I'm REALLY sick of.  Yours?

"By The Way" -Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Soak Up The Sun" -Sheryl Crow
"Hey Baby" and "Hella Good" -No Doubt
Any song by Andrew W.K.
And as much as I love Eminem, I am sick of the song "Without Me".

I agree on 'Hero' - I despise that song! And my mum has just bought his album. Nice :)

I am completly sick of  TLC - Unpretty. Our local radio station seems to adore this song, and it is constantly played. That's why I don't listen to BRMB anymore - unless I have to.

I'm sure I'll think of many more :)

I wish they'd play TLC's "Dear Lie" more often than they do... this song was, IMO, much better than "Unpretty" or "No Scrubs" - under, not over-rated. I was listening to all three, though, the day after the news of Lisa's death came through. Yet again I would like to say RIP Lefteye, and would like to convey my deepest sympathies to friends, family, and listeners.

I gotta agree, I am so sick of the song "Without Me".  It was good at first, but now it just sucks.  I cannot stand Sheryl Crow.  Pretty much anything that is over played on the radio I cannot stand.

I thought of another song that I'm sick of: P.O.D's "Youth of the Nation". My sister plays that song all the time, and while I admit it is a good song, it does get tiresome.

I used to love that song too, but that's another one to add to my list of songs I'm sick of hearing.

Ashanti "Foolish" (same as A Thousand Miles)
John Mayer "No Such Thing" (same as A Thousand Miles)
Puddle Of Mudd "Blurry (same)
Michelle Branch "All You Wanted"
No Doubt "Hella Good"
The Calling "Whereever You Will Go"
Nickelback "How You Remind Me"
Khia "My Neck My Back"

When I do listen to current top 40 (and even when I don't):

Sheryl Crow - "Soak Up The Sun" (got free tix to an all day show with Sheryl as the headlining act a few weeks ago - Didn't watch her.  Did catch Tonic on the 2nd stage - great performance.)

I can't escape Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" and Dirty Vegas' "Days Go By."

"Hot In Herre" needs to be put on ice.  Learn how to spell, Smelly!

"A Thousand Miles" is played quite often here but I like that one.  Vanessa Carlton has talent.

The first three I like very much. They're not really overplayed here - well, yet :)

I used to like the Nikelback song, but that is sooooo overplayed. And I hardly ever listen to the radio!

I am so tired of hearing "Been a While" by Staind... give the song a rest, all ready! Also "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton. Don't need to hear that song every fifteen minutes, radio people!!!!  ;D

It's not too bad I guess. It was heavily overplayed when it was out and it was number 1 over here for quite a long time really. It's now considered a modern day pop classic. I quite like her new song, 'Love at first sight', as I mentioned in this threads counterpart :)

All the 17 year old girl songs are getting old...

"Complicated" - Avril Lavigne
"All You Wanted" - Michelle Branch
"A Thousand Miles" - Vanessa Carlton

and then these...

"Hero" - Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott
"This Is How You Remind Me" - Nickelback

and the ones that I simply change the station in disgust...

"Days Go By" - Dirty Vegas
"Soak Up The Sun" - Sheryl Crow
"In the End" - Linkin Park (very old, very overplayed)

"Heaven" DJ Sammy
"Dilemma" Nelly feat. Kelly Rowland (I like the song though)
"Just Like a Pill" Pink
"Hero" Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott (I used to like it, it's gettin old now)
"Complicated" Advil Avril Lavigne (Yeah.. I'm tired of this one)
"Cleaning Out My Closet" Eminem
"Without Me" Eminem
"My Neck, My Back" Khia (Can't stand this one either)
"Just a friend 2002" Mario (Original is much better)

1. Complicated by Avril Lavigne (hope I spelled that right)--can you say "overplayed it"?
2. Days Go By by Dirty Vegas--sounds like a DaftPunk wannabe
3. The Rising by Bruce Springsteen--the "na na na" part sounds like it was ripped off of that old Eddie Money song "Walk on Water"
4. Can't Get You Out of my Head by Kylie Minogue--I wish I could get that song out of my head
5. No Such Thing by John Mayer--trying to sound like David Gray or Dave Matthews (who I'm equally sick of hearing)
6. Superman by Five For Fighting--see number 5
7. 1000 Miles by Vanessa Carlton
8. Dilemma by Nelly
9. World of our Own by Westlife
10. Hella Good by No Doubt
11. Underneath it All by No Doubt
12. Pretty much anything else by No Doubt
There's a reason most of these songs are among the song parodies I've written!

You're thinking of "Walking on the Sun," by Smash Mouth. It's incredible how commercials can ruin a halfway decent tune, or even an excellent one.

:P >:( :P
