LYEAH BABY, YEAH!!!!!!  i can't wait!!!  only  a little longer.  i never thought i'd be eager to see the 'harry potter' one, since i didn't think i'd like the first one.  but mom rented it once and i loved it.  i hope they have the same kids in it.  and i REALLY want to see 'the two towers' because the first was so good.  and there are a lot of hotties in it...elijah wood, viggo mortenson, that blond elf guy (don't know his real name).  eye candy.

I am definitely looking forward to The Two Towers, as the Fellowship was excellent. But I was subjected to the Harry Potter movie the same night I watched "Fellowship" and found it deadly boring! :P

I am really anxious to see The Chamber of Secrets, as I have read and enjoyed all four books.  As for the Two Towers, well, I know we will see it, because hubby is interested, but I don't care about it one way or the other.  But I doubt he'd be willing to wait 'til it comes to dvd and video!   ;)

For what it's worth, they have all three of the kids for at least the first 3 movies...

:) :(
Not seen the first Harry Potter but enjoyed LOTR. At the risk of sounding nerdy, it didn't include everything in the original text, but it was better than I hoped it would be. Enjoyed watching it on video almost as much as in the cinema. Looking forward to more? Yes!

Re Harry Potter, has it been parodied? LOTR has been, a number of times... I'm sure I read National Lampoon's "Bored of the Rings" or something similar thirty-odd years ago and wasn't there a short radio series entitled "Hordes of the Things" in the UK?

LOTR was an outstanding movie and I expect no less from the next two.  I too, and anxiously awaiting it's opening day.

Hubby has read the books, and tells me the story is awesome and I'll love the movies (I won't read them until I've seen the movies).

Coudn't really get into H. Potter.  Took the kids to see it, but that's about it.

Don't know about the radio series, but "Bored of the Rings" with Dildo and Frito Bugger had me in stitches ;-)

Do you know if there's a site that has these radio plays you speak of?  I'd like to get a listen, they sound nifty :)

I hope LOTR2 gets an Oscar, the first one got robbed.

:( Re the LOTR radio parody: the radio series was broadcast by the BBC; I'll have a look on their website and a couple of other places and see if there's more info. You never know... perhaps Radox the Blue will assist. :)

Aha! the BBC website has a section (h2g2 - inspired by Douglas Adams' "the HitchHikers' Guide to the Galaxy") manned by researchers, one of whom is Radox the Green (not the Blue, must be my memory playing tricks) who explains his nom de plume:

"Radox The Green was a character in the four part BBC radio series 'Hordes Of The Things' by APR Marshall & JHW Lloyd.
This was broadcast back in the eighties (I think) and 'Hordes' may or may not have been spelt with an 'e' (it was a long time ago). Incidently, Radox in the radio series was pronounced 'Rah - dox' although your friendly neighbourhood H2G2 version is pronounced the same way as the better known product for your bath. It's easier to remember ..."
