Subject: Michael Jackson and his Masks and Umbrellas

Written By: Paul S. on 12/03/02 at 10:37 p.m.

Sometimes I think the media is really unfair to Michael Jackson for always wearing a surgical mask or carrying an umbrella in daylight.  Ok yes the guy is a flake, but I've been studying about the disease "vitiligo" in a biology class I've been taking.

Jackson suffers from vitiligo, hence his lightened skin.  People with that disease are extremely sensative to the sunlight and burn easily since they have no protection from the sun's UV rays.  This explains the surgical mask and umbrella.  He has to cover himself up and carry an umbrella around, but the media almost always makes fun of the guy and tries to write off the mask and umbrella as another one of Jackson's bizzare eccentricies.

Yes he is kinda weird, but don't you think the media really goes overboard in trying portray him as a circus sideshow?

I think his "vitiligo" is a convenient cover-up. He was healthy as a horse until he became psychologically disturbed about his appearance. This, of course, is just my opinion.

If he does indeed have the disease, that explains the skin color changes.

It doesn't explain the radical plastic surgery.

Nor does it explain the child molestation charges.

And it sure doesn't explain the fact that the man DANGLED his CHILD from a THIRD-STORY WINDOW.

And most of all, it does not explain the general creepy weird vibe he gives off.  The media isn't portraying him a circus freak, he's portraying himself that way.

I agree. All of this is his own doing. The media doesn't have to do a whole lot or try very hard to portray him as a circus sideshow.

I mostly agree here too.  Personally, I'm not so sure about the child molestation charges.... but, I do think he does a pretty good job of giving the tabloids "wierd stuff" to write about.  They may pick at him a lot..but the way he acts, he's asking for it.  The guy, though talented, is way more than eccentric, IMO.  ::)

SANTA MARIA, California (CNN) -- The controversy over Michael Jackson's treatment of his children intensified Tuesday when the singer said Gloria Allred should "go to hell" for complaining about it to state officials.

I find it interesting that the story said she's been a lawyer for many high profile cases but didn't mention that she was the attorney for the boy that he allegedly molested.
But the guy is creepy.

I agree with Allred's action.

Heeeey! Someone has to act when this kind of stupidity, endangerment and terrible lack of good judgment is allowed with no consequences.

Besides, I think he should be monitored in how he's raising those children IF ONLY because he has psychological issues and scars. THAT ALONE could be affecting the way he's raising those children. He is the way he is for a reason. It has been well documented & he's confirmed. Emotional/mental illness is nothing to sneeze at.
