Subject: Favorite Restaurants?

Written By: 80sRocked on 12/17/02 at 11:25 a.m.

I know this is way out of left field, but I was just curious as to where all you folks like to eat?  Fast food included.

I guess mine is a tie between Outback and Texas Roadhouse.
Fast food would be McDonalds.

What about you all?

fast food for me would be arby's when they have the 5 for $5. i like meat. as for a resturant, i like both japaneese food like chiken teryaki and seafood houses with good salmon. there is one of both near me, the japaneese place has a great mishi soup and some really tasty sushi. the seafood place steams asparagus with garlic roased mashed potatos. it is some good eats. of the well known resturants, i like the outback, as they have some huge steaks and beers.

My favorite restaurants are Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, and Outback.
As for fast food.....I can't think of one right off hand that doesn't make me sick to my stomach.  :P

Just out of curiosity, 80srocked, where are u from?

Outback, Subway, a local pizza place (N.Y. Pizza & Pasta), Domino's, Taco Bell (a must on this list, hehe), Chinese food, McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, some sit-down restaurants which I'm trying to remember now, and other places. I could name about 100.  :D

Not a whole lotta choices around here, but fav fast food is Taco Bell, and fav non fast food type of restaurant would have to be (around here)...well....there isn't one   :P. The closest would be a 2 and a half hour drive away, Guiterrez's a family owned and operated restaurant.Wonderful stuff!

Of course the best burger joint I have ever been to was a Whataburger in Texas (pronounced Waterburger by all my Texas friends lol). They have excellent greasy cheeseys...

I like Rally's, Red Lobster, and Texas Roadhouse. Red Lobster has lowered it's quality and raised its prices, but it is still better than Long John Silver's. I also like some of Arby's stuff.

I agree, we gave up on Red Lobster a long time ago when it started to seem like we were getting half the food for twice the price.

As for Long John Silvers, I can't go within 50 feet of that place without getting...well...lets just say their food doesn't stay in me very long after eating it!

great choices.  We loooove Cracker Barrel, especially their jumbo shrimp dinner.  And Olive Garden's veal parmagianna is also a favorite of ours.

We have this local fast food Chinese place. It is pretty good. For our birthdays, we go to the Sirloin Saloon (and I have to order my lobster  :P)  I usually got to lunch at a local inn that has American/Greek food. They are a bit pricey but the food good and we have a great time messing with the bartender's head. lol

Food, I love food. :)
Fast food, there is Dick's locally here, they only serve their burgers three ways, no specail orders or changes.  They have soft drinks, hand make shakes of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry only and one size order of fries.  Very mininal menu, but served very fast, cheap and hot.  The burgers are the best.  They're voted top burgers in the area every year.
To go standard fast food Jack in the Box has taken 1st place among the majors.
For pizza among the big guys, Autumn and I go with Pizza Hut, Domino's sucks.
The sit down place for us goes to Jak's in West Seattle in the "Junction", they have this incredible "meat salad" it has strips of tasty beef over romain lettuce with carmelized onions, chunks of real blue cheese and plump tomato wedges.  That and great Vodka Martini's.  Autumn likes her's really "dirty" (shaken with olive juice added), me,staight up.

My favorite restaurant of all time would have to be Delilah's...it's a little place in the bottom of the Coast Stanley Park Hotel in Vancouver and it's basically a martini bar with a VERY good restaurant attached..the food is OH-mazing and the martini's are to die for...my fave is the chocolate martini and/or the Jack Daniel's martini...mmmmmmmmmm...

For fast food I'd choose Subway too...I do like Quizno's but it's just SO expensive compared to Subway...and for what? To have it toasted? Hardly seems worth it....

Yes!  Dim Sum is awesome!

I try to find 'non-chain' restaurants wherever I go.  As far as chains/franchises, my favorites are:

Chili's
California Pizza Kitchen
Mellow Mushroom Pizza
Burger King
Quizno's
Taco Bell
Papa John's

You know what? If ANY guy EVER to me on a date to Red Lobster, I would dump him right then and there because:
1. Any guy that knows me well enough to take me on a date will know that i HATE seafood
2. That guy will ALSO know that one of my biggest fears is that of crustaceans, and I would consider his taking me to Red Lobster UTTER CRUELTY!

hmmm.....funny......I live in Oklahoma and I don't remember ever hearing of a Texas Roadhouse, and I'm closer to Texas than you guys........well maybe its just because I live in CRAPPY LAWTON  (which by the way is like the 9th worst place to live in the whole US........have pity on ze Queen!)

The Melting Pot.  For those who have never heard of it, it is a fondue restaurant.  My other and I go there for our anniversary every year and get the whole four course meal.  We start off with a cheese fondue with lots of bread and fresh veggies and apples to dip, then comes the dinner salad (we always get the California salad which comes with fresh cheese sprinkled on top and walnuts and a raspberry vinegrette) and then the main meal, a selection of steak, chicken, seafood and veggies to cook (yes, you put the meat on skewers and cook them yourself) in either an oil or broth (four different kinds of broth to choose from, this past year, we had a cajun broth) and for the final round, desert.  A chocolate fondue (6 different kinds to choose from) with brownies, pound cake, cheese cake, and fresh fruit for the dipping.  The tables are small and isloated, and the lights are always dim.  Throw in a bottle of wine and it's a most romantic experience.

Hmmm, I like the Olive Garden, but better than that is a local restaraunt called Victoria's.  Otherwise, it'd have to be Fazoli's, Taco Bell, Subway, Arby's.....it's all good.... (I'm not picky)  ;)

Whataburger must be a regional chain, I've never heard of them.  Sounds good though.

Speaking of burgers, there used to be a chain called "Flaky Jakes" that had great burgers.  It was a mix between sit down restaraunt and fast food.  Basically you got a plain burger, then they had a big toppings bar where you could build your own burger.  The local one closed a few years ago, I don't know if there are any left or not.
