So, for those of you who questioned my professorial position, check out the CSC web page. Its a great little college (about 1500 students) and your kids will get a great education there.  They will learn my "radical Sh!t" but not have to agree with it to get good grades from me, and there are plenty of conservatives on campus too - although they tend to be less tolerant of disent - no comment.  So here I am in Vermont, one of the few Latinos in the whitest state in the union, and loving it, except for all the F'ing snow. Over a foot last night and still falling, and more due on monday - and its SPRING - Where are my crocusses?  

I just hope, for those who I have P!ssed off, we can keep it at "keyboards at 40 paces" ;) After all, I'm getting old, and I really am non-violent :) I do enjoy exchanging ideas with you all.  Yes, even 80rocked, although sometimes his tone does get a bit erksome.  I have students like that sometimes, and they are often quite bright.

I know that Shaz is also irritated, and hope that she also would tone it down a bit.  As I tell my students, I may come off as a bit intimidating, but I'm really a pussycat.  Strong opinions and beliefs - yes.  But...

So you disagree with me on some issues?  That's ok with me.  My first teaching experience was as a teaching assistant.  The professor, lecturing to maybe 300 freshmen, talked about how he and his staff (we were all standing in the back of the room as he gesticulated toward us, with an exagurated arm sweep) had emense egos, and would all be willing to accept any difference of opinion or interpretation.  "We are willing to give anyone the right to be wrong".  The quotes are intentions.  This is not my attitude.  I like to debate and dispute, but I am willing to be shown that I am wrong.  So don't take political disagreement personally, but as a challenge.  Debating these issues sharpens our minds.

Sometimes, in class, when my  students seem to eager to agree with what they think I believe, I advocate for a totally different position (I have been tempted to do that here, but have not - I swear).  Since none of us really have an influence over policy, these debates are just intellectual excersises.  So revel in the disagreement, use it to sharpen your own thinking (as I continue to do), and don't take it personally.  Think globally, act locally (according to YOUR light!)

OMG lol...have you been to his sight?  Ok, I have to tell the story of that pic....a long time ago (like when we were in 11th grade), me and Keith were in keiths basement and were talking to this girl that Keith knew and hadnt seen in like 3 years.....he was telling her that he had changed drasticly since she last saw him and sent her that pic (which he took from a Nordic track website) and told her that thats him and his grandmother had taken the pic...she beleived him!  that was one of the funnyist things I had ever seen!  

anyway, to keep up the joke, Keith put hte pic on his website.......

I believe its his Sofmore college year picture is a picture of him getting stabbed in the head with a knife...published in the magazene he writes for...

well, it was obviously from the pages of Nonsense Humor Magazine, and at one of the layout meetings it came about....the issue was the future issue, and we were trying to think up inventions to fill a page of futuristic inventions....one of the inventions was "The Internet-Stabbifier mark IV"...it was an invention that a hand comes out of the computer screen and stabs the person at the controls....we had the blurb for it "No more long drives to kill that jerk on the internet.  Fullfill your murderous rage at the speed of light..."  We only needed a picutre to go with it...well anyway, at Nonsense we have a writter that hates my guts (Im not really quite sure why lol..he just hates me) anyway, when hes drunk, hes really surley and he starts throwing things....at me....and others...anyway, he was drunk and angry when we though up this idea, and he just came out of no where and said "hey lets have it stab Billy in the face...hes a jerk"....WHile this was incredibly mean (not that anyone really took it serriously because, well, this was the normal attitude of him and he was drunk), it was actully funny, plus, I thought a pic of me getting stabbed in the face would probably be an amazing pic....so we got our second best artist, Pat, (Our first one was on vacation) and he drew a 3 box comic of the stabbing thing in action...the first box is me yelling at the computer some explicitives and saying that my column is funny  blah blah blah lol, the second box shows the computer screen and it shows the converation that I am having (which is with the artist Pat, lol...and its full of Inside jokes that no one outside of Nonsense would get)...and the conversation concludes with Pat saying Im gonna kill you and me saying you cant stab someone over the internet, and the last box is the one that you see with me getting stabbed int he face .....lol...thats it....we then added to the blurb at the begining "(Florio not included)"....so theres the story lol
