Subject: WORST music videos?

Written By: My_name_is_Kenny on 12/21/02 at 08:04 p.m.

Recent ones:
Dixie Chicks - "Landslide."  The whole video looks like it belongs on a poster on a 12-year-old girl's wall.
Creed - "My Last Breath."  Man, Creed videos just seem to get WORSE and WORSE.
Tori Amos - "A Sorta Fairytale."  Weird, but not in a cool Beck-video, just in a headscratchingly stupid way.

Older ones:
Van Halen - "Pretty Woman."  If you've never seen it, I can't describe it.
Hall and Oates - Almost every Hall and Oates video.  The early 80's were not a good time for music videos.
Pat Benatar - "Love Is a Battlefield."  You never saw Joan Jett do something this embarrassing.
Cher - "Turn Back Time."  No one wants to see your ass, Cher.  Accept it.

You got that right - or hear her voice for that matter  :(

Older ones : (really going back)

Give A Little Love - Bay City Rollers (they had them pretending to polish a fleet of antique rolls-royces - why ? - who knows ?)

Get Used To It - Roger Vodouris (that pink mohair sweater  :-/)

Angie - Rolling Stones (Great song - but the video - thay had them sitting and the guitarists all had one red rose threaded through the end where the strings get tightened, and they looked SO uncomfortable with the whole deal)

There must be so many many more !

Now that I have vh1 classic I have seen some pretty crappy videos.  Actually I have come to the conclusion that the only decent videos were made from about 1985-1992.  Before 1985 they really didn't know what to do, and after 1992 most of music sucks.

Most of the worst music videos have to go to Ol 'Weird Al.

Any video which shows only the band playing (or "syncing") their instruments is a terrible video. My other worst videos of all time:
"Lick It Up"-Kiss
"Dr. Feelgood"-Motley Crue
"Don't Come Around Her No More"-Tom Petty
"Black or White"-Michael Jackson (the uncut version)("Bad" was pretty bad too.)
"Like A Prayer"-Madonna
"Love Is A Battlefield"-Pat Benatar
"Flip of The Wrist"-Ratt (A good vid until you find out some of the girls that removed their tops are under aged.)
"Shock To The System"-Billy Idol (Yes, his videos got worse, and the song pretty much blew too.)

I don't really watch music videos that much.  My little sis watches CMT all the time but I HATE country anyway.
I would have to say any music video with queers/lesbians on it are the worst because they make me sick to my stomach.  :P
And the other day I saw the video for "When I'm Gone" by 3 Doors Down and for some reason I found it quite disturbing.  :-/

I remember seeing a video of Michale Jackson doing "Rock With You" from '79 album Off the Wall.  Pretty funny, but sad compared to the production that went in to his later vids.

A lot of the videos from the late 80s and early 90s were really bad, too many to name here.  A couple in particular were "High Enough" by Damn Yankees and "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice

Man, I think Chrintina Aguilera's "Dirrty" is just wrong. The only place she could find some shorter shorts is in a belt store!
Anyways, peace to ya'll,
Pasta!

The Wildhearts' "Red Light, Green Light"

possibly the cheapest vid ever made, but it fitted the song title  ;)

Most of the rap video's are the same. You could watch 25 in a row and mute the remote and still think the same rap video was on for an hour. I just don't get the rap video's anymore. I thought Busta Ryhmes "Put Where Hands Where Your Eyes Could See" was a good rap video a few years ago. Bone Thugs N' Harmony had a good video in 96 with "Crossroads". Nas had a good video with "One Mic" this year. Whenever I see a Ja Rule or Jay-z video there's always clad girls. I love women but honestly how much can you take of one thing? Rap has done the same video's for 5 years now.

Why do you say that? I certainly hope it's not because you disapprove of their lifestyle. Really, there's nothing wrong with it, and no one should find it offensive.

I agree!  Someone told me those videos are used to incite envy among our colored brothers.  Whether he was telling the truth or not, I just couldn't understand why those garbage top the charts!

15 years ago, you'd never see scantily clad women in videos with Tone Loc and Young MC.as soon as the 90's came along, videos became hardcore.Does anyone agree?
