Subject: "Joe Millionaire"

Written By: Race_Bannon on 01/06/03 at 03:49 a.m.

It's a FOX network "reality" show about woman vying for the effection of a handsome young millionaire, big problem they run into the end is he's really a humble construction worker.
Would/will you watch it?
I believe this is about the ugliest, foulest, insulting, piece of entertaincrap I've ever heard of.  And women speak up about this, here we have goldiggers that are loathable in the first place and we have the opportunity to hate them even more.
SICK!

Where's the reality? Are they trying to tell us men that if we go out and "pretend" to be millionaires we will get so many women that we'll have to pick and choose which one we want, only to have them get p*ssed off when they find out we're just normal, blue collar dudes?

Yeah....that's reality....

But it does sound like a plan...if only for a weekend! ;)

I'd never watch that, as I'm not into shows like this, but I'd love to be that pseudo-millionaire surrounded by all those lovely ladies!  And speaking of such shows, "The Bachelorette" may be a very pretty woman, but if I were one of the men going after her, I'd probably one of the first guys she rejects!

Why would a guy want any of those women gold-diggers?

Why would a woman want to keep a guy who in the end is a dishonest liar, who plays tricks and pretend to get a girl?

In reality, the outcome wouldn't be pretty, unless the eventual couple "fell in love".

What are the odds of that happening?  ::)

The ratings will decide.

Afterall, it is just a TV show and it will get manipulated as such, duping people into a possible fairytale ending.  ::)

The reality of it all is that this so-called pauper is getting paid quite a bit of money for making an idiot out of himself, THUS, making him no pauper at all.  :P

No matter what, they all come out winning, if only just for the payckecks and 15 minutes of fame.

I would never watch this tripe that passes for entertainment nowadays and that goes for all so-called reality shows.

I just want to see the very very last episode to see what the lucky "winner" will do...will she flip out?  Or will this have a Cinderella ending?  The suspense is killing me  ::)

I'm with Rice, I'll only be watching the last episode to see if the winning girl is a shallow gold-digging creep or not.

If they really fall in love, neither person's income will matter, but the lies and deceptions will.

I'm expecting the "love affair" to fizzle.  Anyone who's shallow and money-hungry enough to allow a "courtship" to be broadcast on national TV, IS a money-hungry gold digger.  After all, who is paying to send everyone to France?  Who is paying for the food, clothes, entertainment, ect.?  Who is (presumably) paying everyone's living expenses while they are in France?  The network.

Threre are quite a few things I'd be willing to do for money, but this AIN'T one of them. >:(

this show can be easily decribed in one word: Trash.

Everytime I start to gain some respect for FOX, they do another stupid show like "Joe Millionaire".

This may sound mean, but....

These women deserve what they are getting. I would bet you all these women are like Conger, or whoever that woman was on "marry a millionaire" a few years ago. She just wanted money. She won him, dumped him, and then went to playboy to cash in on her $300,000. I think ALL these women are shallow worthless pecies of trash. I once knew a woman like that, who rode me for ever last penny I had, and when she was done, she went on to another sorry sob to suck the life out of him too. Women like that are a drain on society. They should make laws to outlaw what they do.

What is wrong with this guy finding love in real settings with real people who are not worthless gold diggers?

This is just another example of trash tv and grabbing for ratings. The sickest part of this is people have to be watching this crap or networks would drop "reality" shows like hot potatoes. And this one is the worst. The whole story is based on a lie from the beginning.  ::) Yeah, mmhmmm that is a foundation of future bliss and happiness :-/...... No, I won't be watching.

Personally, I like to think of this show as the longest, funniest episode of Candid Camera ever.  Except it won't be as nice for the contestant when the secret is revealed, of course.  But hilarity will ensue, no doubt.

There was an article about Mr. Millionaire in the paper today (apparently he's a local).  The guy is working construction now, yes, but he's also worked as a male model and he has lived in Paris, so maybe he's not the blue collar slob everyone has him pegged as.

he may not be a slob, but he is definitely blue collar.  So what if he modeled and lived in Paris.  That doesn't change the fact he is a construction worker making only $19000/yr.  Thats blue collar.

I know people in construction who make $18 an hour. That would be around 36k a year. Not that it makes that much of a difference. I will enjoy seeing the look on her face when she finds out he is not loaded. Will she want him because of his charm/niceness/intellect/ect, or will she dump him because of his bank account?

Ok, I admit it, I watched the show.  Please don't throw things at me.  I probably won't watch again til the last show, but I am rooting for the really b*tchy money grubbing blonde just to see her face when she finds out. ;D

I KNOW it's more trash...but it IS reality....these women will eventually be exposed for the trash that they are...Money is all that matters to them..unless ONE is Honorable and decent.  Not a great show but, at least it shows something that honestly happens sometimes, in REAL life.

As far as the high ratings, i'll just assume it was curiosity.

Those TV producers sure know where/how to get the masses, don't they?!  ::)

Sorry- I just have to put my 2 cents worth in on this one.
This is just a complete and utter waste of time.  I can't believe that some genius came up with this and even worse that some other genius thought it would be "good" television.
I will keep my opinion about the people who actually watch this type of show to myself so as not to offend anyone but I won't watch it nor will I stay in the room if someone else chooses to watch it.  I can certainly think of many more worthwhile things to be doing.  This pretty much sums up my opinion on the whole "reality" craze.

they sure do.  Just look at the "Anna Nicole Show".  Had huge ratings for its premier.  And for what?  To watch a fat drunken drugged out slob ex-stripper stumble around like an idiot.

Wow, our society is going down the toilet fast.

Really this show is disgusting. I'm sure the ladies are good looking but this show is a total waste of time. What guy would honestly go on one of these shows like Bachelor or Who Wants Marry a Millionare? Do I have to have a Benz and make 100,000 dollars a year to meet a nice looking woman? I would think not. I maybe shy around women but I wouldn't degrade myself by going on some cheesey show.

Hmmm. I wonder... Some of these women seem to have good hearts, but in this kind of situation, you can definetly be fooled. Whose real, whose not. That Heidi chick is simply a gold digger. When she wasn't picked, she really showed her true colors. You'll see more of that as time progresses. Pathetic!

As I said, if I were that pseudo-millionaire and I were surrounded by lovely ladies, I just hope that the lady who stole my heart would play along with the charade!  I wonder what will happen when the lady who wins the heart of the pseudo-millionaire finds out he's just a construction worker who earns 19 grand a year!  Will she play along with the charade or will she be disappointed?

That would be awesome if "the heart winner" was still interested in him despite of the fact. We'll just have to wait and see... The "reaction factor" is all I'm really interested in .:-/ :)
