Subject: When will the Real 21st Century begin?

Written By: Lord Garth on 01/11/03 at 02:34 p.m.

When do you think the real 21st century will begin?  Yes we are in the 21st century now in 2003, but 1903 wasn't exactly what I would consider the 20th century if you know what I mean.  I mean I'm sure there were people in 1903 walking around saying, "This is the 20th century!", but that time still looked like the late 19th century to me.

I never considered the 20th century as coming close to beginning until at least the Roaring 1920's.  Some people even go farther and feel that the 20th century truly did not begin until after World War II in 1945.

So as much as you may like to think of our present as the 21st century, I'm certaint that history will view the 2000's and most likely the 2010's as nothing but a hold over of the very late 20th century.  But I have a feeling we will get a feel for the 21st century around the 2020's, kinda the same way it was with the 1920's.

There's never been an actual period where everybody in the world has been at peace...but I'll say the 21st Century will begin when everyone in the world sets aside their differences and accept each other as friends...a bit idyllic, but it's better than saying something about flying cars ;)

I don't know I consider the Music in 1903 "20th century"  and they were inventing a lot of key 20th century inventions.
