I think they mean literally. I don't know about everyone else but to me all tv dinners taste like they were made 50 years ago.  :P ;D

Do they still come in tin trays?

Back in the 60s and 70s they were right nasty.  I think the roast beef dinner was the worst... and if you accidentally scraped your fork on the plate you'd be tasting tin for the rest of the meal.

while 99.9% of them are pretty gross, beleive it or not there are a few that aren't too terribly bad.  Of course, the semi-decent ones aren't exactly cheap either.  Heck, by the time you spend $4-$5 for one of the "good" TV dinners, it would be cheaper to just go to McDonalds.

I haven't seen the tin tray dinners for years.  I think they switched to the plastic trays because most people heat them up in the microwave instead of the oven nowadays.

I buy the Kid Cuisine ones for my boys all the time.  They love them, and they actually don't taste too bad.  The only ones I really like are the salisbury steak ones.

TV Dinners, yuck.  There is one kind I like though, it's the Banquet fried chicken meal.  Banquet dinners, yum.

I had those on occasion back in my youth, yech! :P
Darn things would come out of the over at 400 degrees and give you a good steam burn if you weren't careful. The worst part was when one of them peas would finds it's way over to your cobbler, damn peas. >:(

I love TV Dinners.

My favorite is Meatloaf. That was very good. ;D
The corn was a bit on the watery side and the mashed potatoes could add a bit of salt to it.The apple cobbler was kind of good but it sometimes got stuck to the tray. ;D

TV Dinners are one of the best inventions ever created!

Really!!! :D

They have these Marie Callender TV Dinners that are almost as good as home-made meals. Hungry Man by Swanson, Uncle Ben's and Lebeiw15's Banquet fried chicken meals also get my vote.

That brand is very good.  There's also another brand, I can't remember the name, that has a veal parmsian dinner that is actually very very good.  The only problem is, they discontinued it for some reason. ???

mmmm, I'm geting hungry now, thanks a lot! :D

I take you alls words for it, but I haven't been within a pole vault of a frozen dinner for a couple of decades.
Cept for Howlin' Coyote brand chilis (if they even still make them).

Does anyone have the new Hungry Man 1Pounder? Now,in the tray, they are putting more food and bigger-sized proportions in the tray so that way,you won't feel hungry.

Seems to me like the new Hungry Man's have LESS food in them, smaller portions.  But by adding POUNDER to the box, you THINK it's more.  I've been eating Hungry Man for years, and I'm sure the portions are smaller now.
