This is not related to anything on the boards right now, but I thought it was really cool:

I just saw on "Modern Marvels"(History Channel), that if you filled a nuclear reactor cooling tank full of fresh beer and compared it to the same cooling tank when filled with the nuclear waste water, the beer actually has more radioactive chemicals in it than the spent waste-water does.

I thought that was pretty amazing. 8)

I heard today that the Brits got the lable "Limey's" from back in the old seafaring days when part of their compensation came in rum.  Limes were found to hold longer than other fruits or vegetable and would help stem off scurvy which was common in that field of work.  The sailers would squeeze the lime juice into their rum since much easier to drink them then eat.  When the ships would pull into to south ports where limes were availble they would pick up a big load of the locals would refer to them as "Limey's"
Hey Brits, is it a true story?

In the 2002 World Cup, U.S. goalkeeper Brad Friedel saved penalties against South Korea and Poland. The only other man to save two World Cup spot-kicks was Poland's Jan Tomaszewski in 1974.
