This looks to be a very interesting movie. Has anyone heard any spoilers about it? From what I understand, it deals with a man who is an activist against the death penalty suddenly landing on death row....

The reviews I heard said it shamelessly promoted its political agenda, at the expense of the script.

I don't listen to critics or reviews, those people see far to many films and become jaded cynical little trolls. What do critics know about what I like? Anyway....I plan to see it as it has two of my favorite actors, Kevin Spacey and Kate Winslet. I was just wondering if anyone had any spoilers, or heard about the plot outlines.

same here.

I heard Kevin Spacey talking about it last night on Letterman.

Regarding your statement about its political agenda, you are right.  Spacey is an outspoken opponent of the death penalty, always has been.  Its no coincidence he starred in a movie about it.

That's what I ask most of the time too.  But this movie screams of sermon...almost disgraceful.  It's almost like "John Q" shoving the "health system is evil" message down our throats last year...

I guess there is a place in entertainment to spread a message though.  That's what most standup comics do to some extent anyway, so why not movies?

If you're going to see, say, Kangaroo Jack, a critic's review is probably useless, but when you're going to see a supposedly intelligent movie like this one it helps to have an intelligent opinion.

I don't know much about the movie but to me it sounds a little "dead-man-walking-ish". Girl meets boy, girl tries to save boy from execution.
