you got that right.  Its obvious these PETA morons have way too much time on their hands, why don't they put it to good use in a manner that would actually be productive to society.   ::) >:(

IMO they would get further if they would not take such an extremist standpoint. It seems that they do everything in such an in your face offensive way that it turns people off wanting to hear their point of view. Their attempt to shock  the public into giving them attention is just coming off as cheap and sleazy. Kind of like the Jerry Springer show..... ;D

Do you think that maybe they make such stupid comparisons just so they can get some publicity? No wonder no one takes what they say seriously, they're a bunch of wackos.

This reminds of a story that Tom Selleck told Jay Leno. He said that while he was filming a movie in Canada, an animal rights person showed up on set to complain about his character killing flies.

They're not wackos per se, they just lack communication skills ;)  ::)

The version I heard is that the protestor promptly slapped a mosquito that had tried to bite her ;)

Great point.

I mean think about it, when they stand outside a fur coat store and throw red paint on the customers simply because they oppose the fur industry, they are only going to royally tick people off.  Thats no way to gain support for a cause.

I read about that too. ::)

I also read last summer where in Florida where a shopping center development was halted because PETA found out the land was the breeding area for an endangered species of fly.  Unbeleivable.  A stinkin fly! ::)

I find this truly disgusting.

I mean, I realize that these people truly feel for the cute fuzzy aminals, but at some point, as a sentient creature, you have to believe that you're at least a little higher than a chicken on some scale somewhere.  You have to have a set of values that lets you believe that you're better than a piece of plankton.

I think they all secretly want to be actors...you know..."Bad publicity is better than no publicity"

This campaign just makes me despise them even more.  IMO, they all need to be institutionalized.  Well, maybe not all, just 99.999% of them.  This is just taking it too far!

Read "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor Frankl. The jews treated themselves as animals in the camps. We all have a common baseness which is horrible. It is nothing the jews have a monopoly on.

For the PETA people, I will gladly give up eating animals if you can make a potato taste like a steak.

What is this supposed to mean?  I have read Frankl, too and I did not get this from what he wrote.

I think these people need to think before they start a campaign.   It definately isn't helping their cause.

Hey now!! Don't be giving actors a bum rap just because of these people....I happen to be an actor and we are not all of the opinion that bad publicity is better than no publicity! I like to think I have a few more smarts than these people....

i did not phrase what i wrote very well. what i was talking about was when frankl stated as a prisoner in the camps, having a doctors degree he was made the camp doctor for jew prisioners-- he kept the few asprins for himself which the nazi's gave him to treat fellow prisioners. how bad is that? he stated how fighting between jews broke out in the camps, and they made themselves more miserable than the nazi gaurds did. my comment is about how the worst of conditions can make any person horrible and base. if you look at any negative situation in the world, if the person is deprived, then that is the probable cause.

Sorry.  I shouldn't have generalized.  Most actors don't think that way, but you have to admit, there are some who do.  Maybe agents would have been better? ;)  I know from my meager experience in plays/musicals that it takes quite a bit of dedication, intelligence and hard work to be an actor.  These people have dedication, and that's about it.

not as much as you think. if the worst a person can do is argue about comparing unethical treatment of animals to nazi's, then i would say we are living well and civilization is fine. worry about things when nobody cares...
