Subject: Madonna Single

Written By: theRealJimA on 04/02/03 at 02:47 a.m.

I know the video has been censored for being, yawn, unpatriotic, but isn't her new single a steaming pile of rubbish with the worst rap-bit-the-middle since John Barnes contributed his bit to the England football teams & New Orders effort for the 1990 world cup (World in Motion)?

I actually believe that her new single is awful.

Her new song sounded,in my opinion, like a broken car alarm.
Plus she can't rap.  :P

I'll just stick to her early material instead.

She's going down in flames.

She should quit while she's still got some minor shred of popularity left, not a total loser has-been. :-/

Okay, I went over to yahoo and listened to the single. four minutes and thirty seconds of my life that I want back. Terrible! Even the melody isn't pleasing, and the lyrics are atrocious. Too bad, she appears to be steadily going downhill. They show a remix listed that you can listen to as well.  :-X If the first was bad the remix can only get worse....

Hey hey hey! There's no need to get snooty and bring NewOrder into this. I don't insult your religion, so don't insult mine :) :D ;D

Lol!

Just don't diss Radiohead or Roxy Music - then you're in BIG trouble ;D

Well I heard it for the first time today also. I really don't know what to think about it. That voice thing she uses is quite annoying though, as much as I love Madonna. Is Like Cher's 'Believe'. A word of advice to her - Go back to your 'Like A Virgin' era methinks :)

I strongly agree that Madonna's popularity is dwindling down and should retire the music/"acting" business.

I don't get it.  How can her popularity be going down, when she's on tv and on the news every day now. The new music video will have a world premiere day and everything too.  Obviously there's something about it that gets the attention of us all...

Well, this is Madonna we're talking about. She isn't named the "controversial one" because she likes to bake cookies...then again, even some homevideos of her spending time with her kids creates headlines!

Much like Michael Jackson, Madonna always strives to get attention. So she decided to make a controversial video. (Well, that's Madonna) I wouldn't care even if the song/video was done by somebody current like Eminem (Atleast he can rap better than Madonna).  Not to mention I'm not a fan of Madonna and consider her last few albums to be mediocre. With exception of her latest single, inwhich sounds awfully atrocious.  :P
The only reason why Madonna is still widely known because she made awful films directed by her husband.
(Sorry, he's no Spielberg) And still puts out albums with much media hype. And recently, I heard she'll appear on "Will & Grace"   If  Deborah Gibson or Taylor Dayne were to guest star on a popular sitcom, nobody would care. And Taylor Dayne has a better voice. Not to mention Deborah Gibson has more hits on Broadway (and a better voice, in my opinion)  as much as Madonna has a lot of flops on the box office. (That's my opinion.)
And partially true.  Not to mention Madonna is like the female equivalent of Eminem, execpt that she's a lousey rapper. (No offense to Eminem fans)  :-/

BTW, I'm not trying to put down Madonna.
And I'm not a fan of Eminem either.
I only think she should give her fame a rest.  :D

Agree.
Not to mention Madonna mentioned Vanilla Ice  in her infamous "Sex" book.
(That's another topic)  :-X

Madonna's new single makes "Ice, Ice, Baby" by Vanilla Ice  sound like a materpiece!!!
That's how atrocious her song is.
BTW, I wouldn't watch her video premiere either.
Even for curiousity. I even didn't watch her 2001 video that only aired once. I forgot the title and don't care.   :-/

New Order are cool, John barnes rapping about football in the middle of one of their songs is slightly less so :)

and it was mentioned on the news yesterday once that she pulled it herself rather than being censored ???

Great.  :D  The first time I ever heard Madonna pulling the plug on one of her own work.  Though it was "censored".

Now her video hoopla is now settled.   ;D
But her new song still reek month old sushi!  :P

And the song isn't even political. It's actually nonsense.
(I've heard it about 6 times on my local radio station)

When did Madonna rap while singing Vogue?   ??? ???

I don't remember listening to her rap in "Vogue", but I do remember listening to her rap in "Justify my Love".  And I swear, I will never, ever, EVER listen to that song again as long as I shall live.

See it?  I own it.

I guess I'm fortunate (or too old) to not have heard the new single.  Thunderpuss's remix of "Die Another Day" puts me in a trance though...

"Vogue"...Now that's a better song from Madonna.
(I've listened to it the other day and forgot that she rapped on that song)

I only like 9 Madonna songs.   :)
And "Vogue" isn't one of them. (It's still an OK song)
Her rap (from "Vogue") was mediocre. It's just my opinion.
It's still fun to listen to "Vogue" once in a while.

Madonna can't rap.

The  "spoken word" part from "Vogue" was alright, but her new single is 100% vomitrocious!

Yes, that was a Rap bit she did in the song "Vogue." "Vogue" is not a Rap song though.

Okay, let's say "raplike", "rap-esque", or "quasirap" vocals. Is that better.
