I was shocked to turn on the TV and see this. I'd been watching him do the best, most ingenious and most dangerous reporting on the war. He became like a guide for me the first few weeks of the war. I stopped watching the war altogether. One of the last times I saw him, he was showing us what MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) are and what they contain.

When I first heard he'd died, I immediately assumed he had been killed in direct relation to the war, perhaps killed in the line of fire or worse. The fact that his death was not allegedly war related is, I'm sure, of little comfort to family, friends and fans. He was a very good man; An enthusiastic and dedicated man. May he rest in peace.  :'(  May his family be able to cope and receive the comfort to help them through this very difficult time.

This is so sad.  He was one of the best reporters over there, IMO. :'(

I didn't know him. I still mourn his death. Any human death is sad.
