no kidding.

Personally I have no big probelm with it.  Some will say its in bad taste and all, but unless I'm mistaken, there's a video game out there based on just about every war already anyway, so why should this one be any different.

That is what I was going to say.  I don't think it will hurt the PS2 at all, Xbox buying the rights to the "Metal Gear Solid" series will hurt PS2 more than this will, because of the fact as 80sRocked mentioned that there are games out there for just about every war there has been.

This will not hurt the ps2 at all :) Face it xbox has always been behind ps2 anyway, but whats this about xbox gaining metal gear solid rights?

They had to work quick to TM the term, but I'm sure they will wait a year or two before putting it on a box cover.

So true, I have have no problem with this specific one.  My problem with all this goes deeper.  I think there is just too much violence on these video games (like the one where you can off a prostitute), and in entertainment in general.  The cumulative effect from all this, my Psych Dept colleges tell me, is not so much that it makes people more violent, but it makes them more callous toward violence.  It also encourages militarism.  Oh well, anything for a buck.

Xbox bought the rights the tbe Metal Gear Solid series last fall.  The next 3 or 4 games in the series will come out on the Xbox and not the PS2.  Though they did say that several months after the Xbox release date they might release it on the PS2 also, which I hope they do cause the first two Metal Gear Solid games on the PS1 and PS2 are probably my favorite games and I would almost die if they didnt eventualy put the next ones out on the PS2.

See,back in those days of Nintendo you'd buy a video game that had something to do with war.Like Ikari Warriors, crime fighting games,Army and Navy. But a game that deals with Iraq? I'd like to see it.

Well they probably will release mgs3 for all systems eventually. Cause look what happened for mgs2: substance. It's now for Xbox and PS2 (and soon Gamecube). Although I would prefer it stick to one system. That way Xbox would have some "must have" titles.
