Subject: 50s Singer 'Little Eva' Dies

Written By: Indy Gent on 04/18/03 at 00:15 a.m.

As you saw on Steve_H's avatar, Eva Narcissus Boyd, known for her #1 hit single "The Locomotion", died sometime this week. Although it was her only hit, it was a timeless classic redone by Grand Funk Railroad and Kylie Minogue among others. 'Little Eva' will be sorely missed. :'(

Tragic loss.  :'(

I didn't even know she originally sang "The Locomotion".
I was only familiar with Grand Funk Railroad & Kylie Minogue.

Without her, Kylie wouldn't be a huge pop star.

I'll sure miss Little Eva.

Little Eva used to babysit for Carole King and it was Carole King who wrote the Locomotion. Just a little FYI. She will be missed.  :'(
