Hey Rice, I'm glad you brought up Jack Nicholson, now I can say a couple of things without having to bring him up myself.
I have really enjoyed most everything I've seen him in just because of who he is and the way he acts.
Going South
The Shining
As Good As It Gets
Batman
Are just a few examples of his acting talent.
However, lately I've seen a couple of Nicholson things I didn't care for and it makes me wonder once again if the actors really have any idea whether or not the movie is going to be any good at all.
I liked "The Pledge" right up until the end. Just because fate decided he wasn't going to get to catch the bad guy, does that mean he needs to go off the deep end and become a drunk? I didn't like that.
And!! the only thing I thought was funny about "About Schmidt" was when he was sitting there in his office chair, on the day of his retirement, waiting for five o'clock to show up so he could leave.
I think I'm going to start a thread about this.
