OK, check this out and state your opinion.
This list is very unfair...
Since MTV is already a horrific network.

Except for the omission of Duran Duran, I see no problem with that list.  They all seem to fit the definition of "Greatest Video Star."

Granted, they only put in 30 choices for a 25-item list.  They could have added a few more people.

Aritsts out of the 30 that I consider too new & unworthy to be consider one of the greatest video stars.

1. Britney Spears
2. Jennifer Lopez
3. N' Sync
4. P. Diddy
5. Limp Bizkit
6. Eminem  I'll admit that I like some of his videos.

Not to mention No Doubt. C'mon.
Even Mariah Carey had some memorable videos like "Fantasy" & "Honey".

I agree! they left out some great 80s stars as well, I can remember waiting on the edge of my seat for the next Cars video. Too many 90s stars and not enough 80s!

I'll agree with Number 1 through 5 on that list. "Honey" by Mariah Carey is a good video.  Eminem even though I disagree with his lyrics he does have skill and good video's so I could understand putting him on the list. Jennifer Lopez-No Way. Nookie by Limp Bizkit was an ok video. N'sync no way.

The list is awful... It only had about 8 artists from the '80's
(out of the 30 that's mostly bands/acts from the '90's & today)

30 '80's video stars that should've been included:

Duran Duran
Def Leppard
Peter Gabriel
The Cure
Talking Heads
The Cars
Bon Jovi
Whitesnake
Huey Lewis & The News
Cyndi Lauper
Tom Petty
Pat Benatar
Culture Club
Billy Idol
INXS
The Go Go's
The Bangles
ABC
Bobby Brown
Bananarama
Paula Abdul (Gotta represent 1989/1990)
Pet Shop Boys
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
George Michael
Men At Work
Bruce Springsteen
ZZ Top
Dire Straits
John Cougar Mellencamp
Motley Crue
Debbie Gibson (Heck with Bratney Spears)

The only 2 '90's bands they left out with videos I  liked:
The Smashing Pumpkins & Green Day

OK...these are the great '90's bands/acts that made great videos that were listed:

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Beck
REM ('80's/ early '90's)
Beastie Boys ('80's/mid '90's)
U2 ('80'S/'90'S)
Foo Fighters
L L Cool J ('80's/early '90's)
Aerosmith (videos from the '80's/ mid '90's)

Nirvana, TLC, and Bjork had some great videos.

And MTV only listed 10 (or 11 if include Aerosmith) artists from the 80's  (some had great videos from the early '90's) on the list.  :-/

I' agree Duran Duran should be included. Peter Gabriel, Cyndi Lauper, Bobby Brown, George Michael, Paula Abdul should be included in my opinion. Peter Gabriel had the infamous "Sledgehammer" video. Duran Duran had the "Save A Prayer" video. Bobby brown was so dominant around the 88-89 period. George Michael's "Faith" and "Freedom" are very classic. Paula Abdul's "Straight Up' is classic. Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Fun" is an MTV classic and "Time After Time" was a good video too. Springstein and Mellencamp were known more for the songs in my opinion and not their video's. I'm not saying their video's suck. Green Day's "Basket Case" is classic as well as the Smashing Pumpkins "today". I like this list that Princess of Pop made. Princess of Pop likes some of the same artists I like.

Tool! I like the Perfect Circle video for the song "Judith" a band Maynard James Keenan was the lead singer of a side project away from Tool. The video for "Judith" was a great video a couple years ago.

I'm not surprised they left out Duran Duran, Peter Gabriel and other artists worthy of the spots. The list is aimed at the younger kids of today and therefore neglected the golden artists and videos of the awesome 80's.

H3ll yeah!  TOOL's videos rock!  But then again....it seems that TOOL is always left out of the loop when it comes to mainstream "Top (whatever) Lists"  ::)
