ATHENS, Greece (AP) — A 30-year-old man forced his eyes out their sockets to protest his arrest at Athens international airport, authorities said today.
Remi Tsolakis was taken to a hospital and received surgery to try and restore his eyesight, doctors said.
Tsolakis was arrested late Monday after flying to Athens from the island of Rhodes. Airport authorities discovered he had an outstanding three-month jail sentence for a minor offence.
He told police he did not have enough money to pay a fine in lieu of the sentence and would have to go to jail.
Police gave no details of the offence.

That is really gross! I was reading in one of my "police blotter" newsletters that a man in Atlanta or New Jersey (can't recall) actually tried to bite off his own fingerprints to avoid being proven guilty to a crime he committed. I read that he softened his fingertips by soaking them in toilet water then proceeded to "eat away" his own skin! :o
What is wrong with these freaks?

So Now the guy who poked his eyes out can't see who his inmates are.Well,at least he still has his hearing left. :P ;D

I have no idea why but this reminds me of this funny story I heard on the radio where this guy got caught having broken into a glue factory !?! they have no idea what he thought he would be able to steal there, anyway on the way to the police station he tried to slash his wrists with his false teeth in protest over his arrest.Obviously it didn't work but the idea of it made me laugh.
