Subject: "National" IQ Test

Written By: Dude on 06/10/03 at 03:48 a.m.

Will anyone else admit to taking the IQ test on "Fox" last night? I did but I'm waiting until I see if anyone else admits to taking it before I reveal my score.

Ahh, what the h3ll.......according to Fox, my IQ is 115. (Slightly.........juuust slightly above average for an adult in my "age group") (80-110 is considered a "normal" IQ)

I didn't take last night's, but I have taken various tests.  I usually score in the 120's.

I have to admit that I don't like IQ tests: whatever the people who design the things actually think, they're learnable (i.e. if you practise, you do get higher scores) and have a set of assumed values that go with them.  Even when I was 11, I was arguing the logic of the answers given in one test we had - depending on the strain of "logic" you wanted to use, you could come up with different answers.

Most IQ tests are culturally biased. There is no true way to measure your capacity to learn (which is what IQ is supposed to be measuring) because there is no way to remove the "culture bias" of one kind or another from it.  :-/

The last IQ test I took, I was running a fever of 102, with a major headache going on that I had difficulty reading the questions. I still managed to score about 122. It makes me think what I would have scored if I wasn't so sick when I took it-maybe I would have scored worse.  :-/

the last IQ test i took i scored somewhere in the 100's...granted, i hadn't had geometry or algebra by then and all the math questions delt with finding areas of cones or something.  the one i took in elementary school said i had an IQ of 130+.  my parents never told me what my exact number was...i think they forgot. :D

Cool.

I took one in elementary school....somewhere between 120 and 140, I can't remember.
If I remember correctly, I've taken 2 online IQ tests - 112 and 127.

Well, I watched it for about 15 minutes and hubby checked my score.  I got all the questions right that I answered.  My mom scored a 120 (I think).  Makes me wonder what I would've scored had I done the entire thing. ::)

An IQ test on Fox? That's the beginning of a joke, right?

Sorry!...yeah, we had a 'national IQ test' on the BBC, here. I forgot about it so i didn't get to do it.  ::)
