Subject: Summer Movies

Written By: John_Seminal on 07/01/03 at 00:01 a.m.

Anyone seen anything great? I think the best movie I have seen this summer is the Hulk. It has a great plot to it. The worst movie I have seen this summer is Dum and Dummerer. I would have swore from the previews that Jim Carey would be in it, but he is not. The next movie I want to see is Terminator 3.

BTW, the Hulk movie has a great story for the first half. I think the chick in it is soooooo hot!!!

I saw Charlie's Angels 2 yesterday. It wasn't the greatest, but it was entertaining. IMO, the first one was better.

Charlie's Angels 2 will be relased over here in the UK on July 4th. The premiere takes place tonight in London and I'm just seeing it normally.

I haven't seen the Hulk, but my brother did. He said it was terrible. I didn't think the previews for it looked very good, so I don't think I'll see it to find out.

Was the animation in the Hulk what you disliked? I liked the story line. It is so tragic.

Dumb and Dumberer was depressing, the fool got his tooth broken as soon as the movie started, and I felt sorry for him from then on.  The movie was so boring, we left with 30 minutes still remaining and theatre jumped to see the end of Bruce Almighty again.

I would like to see no more commercials in the theaters. That is something I do not like. I would preffer to have 3 trailers and then just start the movie. I went to see a movie a few weeks ago and it flet like half an hour of commercials and previews.

Its official, the worst movie I've seen in years is:

The Hulk

That waste of film was so terribly boring and dull I feel like I should sue the director for stealing a couple hours of my life while watching it. :D

Aweful, aweful movie!

It was! I just watched it today. That girl made the perfect female Terminator, no question about it. Arnold looks as strong as ever, not too shabby for an older dude.

The action sequences in the movie were great, the story followed its predecessor smoothly and...

...well, i don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it yet. ;) :)

it wasn't just the animation, although it really was bad as well...with all the split screan effect, having to show things from 12 differint angles...that was annoying, but not the worst part...

Other factors that made "The Hulk" a waste of 9 bucks are...
-the fact that the first hour and 25 minutes of the movie were spent with Bruce Banner being introduced as a character, which was stretched out way too far...I emphisize WAY
-with the first 95 minutes wasted, the rest of the movie was, not only entirely predictable, but horribly written as well...I mean, if someone takes down hellicopters, then tanks, why the heck would anybody think that a sworm of cop cars would get past him?  Its just dumb.  And with his father, it was just so boring.  And the action scenes, which most of the people in the theator came to see, were barely anything!  It was just the hulk jumping accross mountains and taking down modes of transportation, of course, shown on 15 differint angles, but thats animation.  And I didn't feel that the charactors were portrayed as human beins at all, human's woudn't act like these people did in certain situations, like Im pretty sure that that corperate guy would learn to stop playing with fire, rather than continuing and getting burned(using metaphores to not give away the ending).  And the ending was pathetic.  It seemed like it was a sorry attempt at an apology from the writer for making such a horrible movie...

but this is my opinion...

There are some movies, like "The Matrix: Reloaded", which have absolutely no break from the general atmosphere or tension of the plot or a moment or two of comic relief.

I very much appreciated the moments of comic relief in T3. We laughed our butts off in the theatre. I think everyone else in the theatre felt the same way.

And yes, the girl is absolutely beautiful.

Which reminds me...

I saw the preview for "Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life" and it looks like it's going to be awesome! :D I'll definitely be checking that out. I never liked Angelina Jolie much until I saw the first "Tomb Raider". I think she's amazing in the film; she's hot, strong, agile and intelligent. IMO, she is one of the best examples we have in today's films of a leading woman, not only in an action film, but in the general sense as well. Anyone see "The Bone Collector"?

I also can't stand Angelina Jolie. And think she's not a looker either.

I don't know why people still like Reese Witherspoon.
I saw the preview and "Making of..."  for "Legally Blonde II" and it looked awfully cheesy. And (gasp) one of the greatest actresses of all time plays Rep. Rudd  and a comic legend  is in it!!! There was a scene that reminded me of the preview of the ill fated American Idol movie.

I am going to wait when "Charlies Angels: Full Throttle" is on video/DVD.  :D

Hairspray:  It's official; you're the only person I have ever talked to who could actually stand "Tomb Raider," which is one of the most head-smashingly awful movies I have ever seen.

/edit Nothing against Jolie herself, though.

I finally got around to seeing Identity last night.I really enjoyed it.Does anyone know if this was made from a book? You get the impression that it was and that a book would have developed it more, very clever idea though and a couple of great twists...............

I guess we will go to see T3 but having seen the trailers that looked pants I intend to give the Hulk a miss! Next I want to see the League of Extrodinary Gentlemen and Piglets Big Movie !!

I saw 'Bruce Almighty' recently and it was passable as a movie. There were some nice touches and effects but Jim Carey was the wrong person to be in the lead role. He cannot seem to deal with the serious aspects of the film. Morgan Freeman was excellent as the man upstairs.

As a footnote, I think the main character should have been called Rodney. Then the title would read 'Rod Almighty'.  :)

I went to see Charlie's Angels: Full throttle on Friday and I thought it was excellent.
It was much funnier than the 1st one and Demi Moore is very hot in it!!
I wanted to see The Hulk but a friend of mine told me that it was the worst movie she'd ever seen, so that put me off a bit!!

Really?  :o  Wow. Granted, It wasn't perfect. But there are a bunch of us on this end who really enjoyed it. We thought Jolie did a decent job with the character, she did all of her own stunts and the action scenes turned out phenominally because of it. The locations shot were also breathtaking.

As someone who played the game years before the thought of a movie came to surface, I was pleased with the way it turned out overall. I give it an 8 out of 10. :)

I think the Charlie's Angels movies fit more into the description of "head-smashingly awful". ;D
