Subject: Did anyone see the program about Al Jazeera?

Written By: John_Harvey on 07/11/03 at 06:04 a.m.

There was a British documentary on Al Jazeera's coverage of the war in Iraq. One of the most interesting things I found out about Al Jazeera is that it is the only independent news organization in the Arab world. You know what that means. Free press begets Democracy! (Contrary to popular belief, war does not bring democracy.)

Personally, i think Al-Jazeera's a godsend. Pity Sky decided to start charging for it  :-[

But the only reason why it's had so much acclaim from the West is most of the journalists come from the BBC and places. And of course, it's conveniently PC for the Arab world.
