Subject: The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen!

I liked this film.

It was a mess but an entertaining mess.

I always like Sean Connery.  And I liked the idea of Tom Sawyer, Captain Nemo, and Dorian Gray all teaming up in one adventure story.

People either love or hate this film.

Sounds like a tongue-in-cheek superhero film.

Never heard of it.  But i like the T.V. series the League of Gentlemen (well, the first 1/2 series anyway) :)

I heard it was terrible, but I've never seen it so I can't make that decision.

I agree with My Name is Kenny - I was expecting a whole lot more from this movie and was very disappointed in the result.

Sean Connery is great, but even he couldn't save this movie from sinking faster than the Nautilus with a big hole in the side..

it wasnt that bad..it was kinda like the Wild Wild west TV show meets Mystery men.....

It was based on a series of Comic books created by some english teachers in which those 7 literary characters,
Alan Quartermen (King Solumons mine)
The Invisable man (HG wells The Invisable man)
Captain Nemo(20000 leagues under trhe sea)
Dr Jekle/Mr Hyde( the strange case of Dr Jekel and Mr hyde)
That woman that I forget the name too (Dracula)
Dorian Grey (The Portrait of Dorain Gray ..a book I suggest everyone reads)
and Tom Sawyer (the Adventures of Tom Sawyer)
all come together to fight Professor James Moriarty (Hounds of the Baskervilles)

THe Comic book is entertaing, and the movie was alright, but it could have been better...plus, you really needed to know a few of the books well to understand some of the references, and a few early jokes like "Mr Gray, I see you have a picture missing"....
