Written By: Indy Gent on 07/30/03 at 10:15 p.m.

In what has become a sad week in the entertainment, Sam Phillips, the man credited in launching the singing career of one Elvis Presley, has died at the age of 80. Phillips founded Sun Records in 1952 and produced The King's first 2 singles, "That's All Right, Mama" and "Blue Moon Over Kentucky". His other stars included Charlie Rich, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Conway Twitty. He will be missed by all in the music industry. :'(
