How many people here used to be on the yesterdayland board?  Just what happened to it anyway?

I used yesterdayland.com for tonnes of research and loved that it was full of pictures of 80s clothes, especially beacuse I needed inspiration for costumes for my 80s party ;D . I actually don't know what happened to it, maybe something to do with copyright issues? I hope it'll be ressurected though!

I was a member of YL for about 2 years or so.  One day, they just shut it down.  One of my YL buddies wrote the owner of the site and was told that it was shut down due to financial reasons.  They have no plans to get it going again, unfortunately.

I was actually a member of YL before I joined this site.

I didn't spend much time there because I hated the format of their boards.  Byt that I mean:  they were not decade-spaecific.  That was so annoying because you would have all decades and all topics running together at times, and it was kinda hard to put up with.

I remember there were a lot of kids who joined it and tried to give their input on things from several decades ago, which was obvious that they had no idea what they were talking about.

Thats why I left there and joined this site.  Because if you want to talk about the 80s, you got an entire board for the 80s.  And if you want the current decade, you got this one.  And so on...

I visited the place for nostalgic reasons. I enjoyed a lot of reading and often looked at the pics they had available.

It's unfortunate they didn't give the members an opportunity to possibly help keep the site up, if the troubles were indeed financial. I'm sure those who cared enough would have contributed if they had the resources. They could have also asked a theme-related corporation for funding. Some companies will stand behind a site if they think it is of value, even nostalgic. Some target adverts from varied companies would have probably saved them as well. Oh well. This is just my opinion, of course.

I posted messages on the boards and I even enjoyed looking at information about TV shows, films, toys and pop music. Every time I try to log on to the site, I get a page that tells me the site may be experiencing technical difficulties.
