Subject: Any Good News?!

Written By: Indy Gent on 09/13/03 at 09:17 p.m.

Has anything good happen since the turn-of-the-mellinium? It seems like the only good news is that the World hasn't blown up yet. And I don't even count the worldwide relief help after 9/11. Even though it was helpful, it was a knee jerk reaction. I apologize to those offended. All these deaths of important or famous people can't help any. Can anyone help out with the good news?

That's a tough question.  It's hard to have a postive international event. And usually you don't remember the good things.

Here's a national good event anyways.  Vancouver-Whistler won the right to host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games last summer.

It hasn't been a good few years that we've lived in.

Not International at all this but I met my lovely girlfriend this millenium and Wolverhampton Wanderers hit The Premiership Football League. Judging by their performances at the moment, they will go down to Division 1.

Yes, I just saved a load of money by switching to Geico.  Well, not really, I can't think of any good news.

The only thing I can think of internationally is that Lance Armstrong won the Tour du France for the 5th time in a row.

Personally, DC and I are getting married.  ;D  DC now has the cutest little granddaughter.  ;D

Hopefully, things will get better.

Sports-wise....The Lakers did NOT win the title this year....the dead wings did NOT win the Stanley Cup....the braves did NOT win the World Series and the raiders LOST the Super Bowl.. :D

It looks like things have got better for you and DC, Catwoman. I'm sure you will have many happy times during this millenium. :D

I think we can easily become bogged down with what's happening internationally that we don't realise what we have closer to home.

Here's to a new perspective.  ;)

Thanks Howard. DC is from NJ but I have never lived there. I still have family in up-state NY (around Kingston). You're in the city right? Maybe some day we will get down your way.

Can't think of much great news internationally, but personally I am finally in a job that I actually enjoy and am happy and healthy.  I agree with Bobby, we should count our blessings! ;D
