Subject: ORIGINALS THAT RUIN THE COVERS FOR YOU!

Okay then...how about the covers you enjoy more than the originals....here are just a few of mine for now:
"You Can't Hurry Love"....better by Phil Collins (although I liked the Mindbenders "Groovy Kind Of Love" MUCH better)

"Smooth Criminal" by Alien Ant Farm...better than the Flit Boy

"You're No Good" by Van Halen..better than Linda Ronstadt

to name just a few......

Hall and Oates did a better job than the Righteous Brothers with "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling"...

...Sugar Ray did a very nice cover of Steve Miller's "Abracadabra" (I like them both equally though)...

...and Goldfinger and Joe Jackson equally did an excellent job on "Is She Really Going Out With Him?".

I like that, lebeiw15 ;) I'd also add that Nilsson did a better job on "Without You" than the Badfinger original.

I have to disagree, Rock. The Ronstadt version is even better than the real original by Betty Everett. And if you haven't heard Betty's version, don't feel left out, because hardly anyone's heard it except in the movie "House". ;)

But I will say that:

The Art of Noise's version of the Peter Gunn theme is better than Henry Mancini's original.

Henry Lee Summer and Joe Walsh's "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" was better than the Elvin Bishop-Mickey Thomas version of the 70s.

Kim Wilde's version of "You Keep Me Hangin' On" was better than the Diana Ross & The Supremes version, but the cover by Vanilla Fudge was much better.

Aerosmith's "Walking In The Sand" was better than The Shangri-Las' original.

How about Michael Bolton "When A Man Loves A Woman" ruined by Percy Slegdes' court case against him for stealing then denying he stole it...oops, my bad....Percy was the Original AND the better one...sorry Michael :P
