Well Mark, I would love to see the Dodgers in there, but the way they seem to perform of late, they may yet take a chance and draft me !  :P ;D

I was so glad that the Cubs beat the Braves (I would have been happy if ANYONE beat the Braves). I too, would like to see the Sox and Cubs. Personally, with the two of them, not not sure who I would root for. I like them both equally the same.

Thank Cat!  The Braves DO stink!  It's now a step closer to a reality with Boston eliminating Oakland last night!  If it's Cubs vs Yankees I will root for the Cubs..and if it's Sox/Cubs I'll root for Boston.

You know, with all the predictions i heard, the others predicted the Yankees losing to the Twins.  Heh, its funny how that didnt even come close to happoning, what made people think that?

If there is ANY justice in this world, the Cubs WON'T play the Red Sox....But I am for BOSTON over anyone...I do NOT like "Dusty" baker who managed Barry "I Am The Sh*T" Bonds last year....(Who is just a little slice of crap in the overall picture..that seems to have  a salary up his snobby butt)....Go BOSTON!

If there is any justice, the Yankees won't play the Cubs, and the Marlins will lose. I'd like to see a Cubs-Sox final, with the Cubs winning. I am glad to see that the Championship Series is still the best of 7. And I hate to see another Florida or Boston team winning a title. Sorry Rock, but Go Cubs! ;)

It wasn't Dusty Baker's fault that Barry Bonds is such an egotist.

Sadly, Dagwood is one of those original members that is now MIA. The only ones left from the old days are you and me, Zella, Fuss, CF, Bobo, cs, Billy F., and Hairspray. I saw a recent Goldie post, but many of them just pop up on occasion now. :(

Yeah, that was a great game!  Schilling was awesome as usual and Luis Gonzalez up the middle to knock in the winning run.

The Curse lives on! :(

ALCS Game 5: Yankees 4, Bosox 2. (David Wells shuts down Fenway again.)

NLCS Game 6: Marlins 8, Cubs Flubs 3 (This time, a young fan and 2 errors seal Chicago's fate after leading 3-0.)

That leaves tonight's Game 7 for the Cubs.
As for the Red Sox, Burkett got pounded early and couldn't hold a 4-1 lead.  Aroyo is currently trying to stop the bleeding in the 4th as the Yanks lead 5-4.

Doink! :( (The sound of the other shoe dropping.)
Final Game 7:
Marlins 9, Cubs 6

Kerry wood gives up 7 runs and Pudge Rodriguez is NLCS MVP. I wouldn't want to be Steve Bartman right now.

I think that play was part of a chain of events set in motion by the fan.  Gonzalez was already turning the double play in his head before he fielded the ball.  That second out would of been huge and reduced that grounder to nothing but a routine play by Gonzalez.  Oh well, that's my take anyway.

If the Cubs don't want the Chisox, then Indianapolis could use a major league baseball franchise. But in all likelihood, we won't get one. The locals are too hung up on the Cubs, Reds, and the minor league team (the Indians), not to mention paying for new venues for the Pacers and (maybe) the Colts.

True.  I don't see Indianapolis getting one, especially considering they can barely afford the Colts as it is.

But on a side note, I love going to Indy Indians games.  Thats a great stadium and if one didn't know better, its almost like being at a major leage game.  We usually make it to 3-4 games a year.

Subject: Re: BaseBall Playoffs!

Written By: Indy Gent on 10/16/03 at 04:19 p.m.

Jim Irsay could have afforded to pay for at least a share of the stadium expenses had he not gotten advice from Rush Limbaugh. (He also has allegedly bought prescriptions illegally, though he still denies it.) Now, most of the tab is shoved in the face of the people who pay for the tickets anyway. So if  we can't afford the Colts, then we can't become a major league city. Too bad for one of better sports markets. :(

But just think if it were the Sox and Cubs.......the world series would be held in old,if not the oldest in the country inadulterated parks(well fenway had a  fire but that was looooong ago and they rebuilt it exactly almost.)
Also,Sox havent won a series in 86 yrs and cubs in like 95 yrs. What a passionate, addiciting World Series that wouldve been:)
