Subject: Which computers do you think are the best ones?

Which computers you think are the best and what kind do you have?  I have a Gateway 310S with a flat screen, and a combo CD-ROM, DVD drive. And I just love it.  What about you?

I am not great with computer Specifications, Snferrer but I am reading the 'systems info' and I have a 120 Ghz memory, 512 mb of ram Athlon computer with a G Force 4 Graphics card, Audigy sound card and a CD rewriter - It suits me down to the ground (that is until I need to upgrade it).

Just to add, I think the best computers are the ones where you can get someone to build what you require. I paid £750 for my computer and in the shop it would cost around £1,500 for a similar model (I did some research in Dixons and Curry's).

Not only do you get it cheaper, a built computer is easier to upgrade.  :)

I think the best ones are the ones I build myself.  This time I did the lazy thing and bought an HP.  It was a good deal, but it has it's quirks.  The only thing I have done to it is upgrade the graphics.  Athlon 900, 256MB pc100 Sdram, 64Mb Geforce 4 4200, Windows ME, CD-RW, DVD rom, Generic sound (I am almost ready to upgrade to a new PC :))

Is that without upgrading? If so, you have done well out of that.

I think the best computer is one that does what you want it when you want it to and how you want it done. I'm sure there is one out there like that.  ;)

Always remember: To err is human but to really foul things up takes a computer.

BTW we have a Dell.

I used to have a cute IBM thinkpad-then it died.
I'm typing on some weird Franken-computer at this youth center.
IBM p5o(that's what it says) monitor w/fingerprints but the scariest part is the tower,  there is NO COVER!
I am actually watching the computer at work. IT has too many parts so it has to be old. I'm just waiting for a bolt of electricity to shoot out and fry me.
oh yeah the keyboard is ugly too
at least it has DSL-whoopee

Anything is better than this PC

The new Power Mac G5.

2nd choice would be the latest AMD chipset (forgot the name) Intel has nothing in development yet that is even equivalent to AMD's performance.  Nice to see some good solid engineering coming out of the States again, and not this follow the leader Intel crap.

If your memory were running at 120Ghz, it would far and away be the fastest computer on the planet.  I think you mean you have 120 gigabytes.

The best computers are the ones that do what you want them to. All the rest are boat anchors.

I have a Hewlett-Packerd Pavillion 763n.

2.53 GHZ, 512mb DDR ram, 80GB hard drive, Geforce 4 mx420 video card.

About a year old, although they put an older video card in it.  :'(

But still great for gaming.  ;D

Oh and to anyone who owns a mac, I don't hate them I just "prefer" PCs.

Oh nevermind that, at my old school they had these macs from like 1994, and it took 15 minutes to load google with a T1 Line.   :(
