Subject: Our Song

Written By: randbfan23 on 10/10/03 at 02:56 p.m.

If anyone has read about the situation I am in with my wife being in Colorado, and me living up here in Utah, could you dedicate a song to me. Any song. I just need to know the them of what is going right now with me, how much I am hurting without them. I am trying to look for a job. I want to support my wife and my month old baby so much, I am going to go for an airport job, and I am still looking. Her father wants me to wait to go get her and Brianna our baby in March, but the family I am living with now said they can live here, and there is more than enough room in the house I am in for my baby and my wife. They are welcome in here. They have food and shelter. I will have a job. Her dad thinks I am selfish, because all I want to do is see my family, when he is being selfish keeping her there.

Rand...

When you are certain that you have a job and that you can support your wife and baby, THEN is the time for them to come and live with you.  I do not know when that is, but you will.

No doubt her Dad wants to make sure she is provided for, and that is a good concern on his part.  But if this gets down to him being "possessive", then he has to step back, and your wife has to be with you.  But until YOU (not just a friend that you count on) can support her, take advantage of the good fortune that she has family to help out!

So what song should be dedicated to the situation at hand. To our family what she be our song? I understand she is provided for, and I am grateful for them for that, but I wish she was here in my arms, and I wish my baby was looking at me. I don't want them both to forget that I am here.

How about "Don't Give Up" Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush

in this proud land we grew up strong
we were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

no fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, I've changed my name
but no one wants you when you lose

don't give up
'cos you have friends
don't give up
you're not beaten yet
don't give up
I know you can make it good

though I saw it all around
never thought I could be affected
thought that we'd be the last to go
it is so strange the way things turn

drove the night toward my home
the place that I was born, on the lakeside
as daylight broke, I saw the earth
the trees had burned down to the ground

don't give up
you still have us
don't give up
we don't need much of anything
don't give up
'cause somewhere there's a place
where we belong

rest your head
you worry too much
it's going to be alright
when times get rough
you can fall back on us
don't give up
please don't give up

'got to walk out of here
I can't take anymore
going to stand on that bridge
keep my eyes down below
whatever may come
and whatever may go
that river's flowing
that river's flowing

moved on to another town
tried hard to settle down
for every job, so many men
so many men no-one needs

don't give up
'cause you have friends
don't give up
you're not the only one
don't give up
no reason to be ashamed
don't give up
you still have us
don't give up now
we're proud of who you are
don't give up
you know it's never been easy
don't give up
'cause I believe there's the a place
there's a place where we belong

Or how about

I'm Already There (by Lonestar)

He called her on the road
From a lonely cold hotel room
Just to hear her say I love you one more time
But when he heard the sound
Of the kids laughing in the background
He had to wipe away a tear from his eye
A little voice came on the phone
Said "Daddy when you coming home"
He said the first thing that came to his mind

I'm already there
Take a look around
I'm the sunshine in your hair
I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the whisper in the wind
I'm your imaginary friend
And I know I'm in your prayers
Oh I'm already there

She got back on the phone
Said I really miss you darling
Don't worry about the kids they'll be alright
Wish I was in your arms
Lying right there beside you
But I know that I'll be in your dreams tonight
And I'll gently kiss your lips
Touch you with my fingertips
So turn out the light and close your eyes

I'm already there
Don't make a sound
I'm the beat in your heart
I'm the moonlight shining down
I'm the whisper in the wind
And I'll be there until the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh I'm already there

We may be a thousand miles apart
But I'll be with you wherever you are

I'm already there
Take a look around
I'm the sunshine in your hair
I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the whisper in the wind
And I'll be there until the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh I'm already there
Oh I'm already
There
