I always felt that their marriage was phoney, particularly when they felt the need to profess their undying love for each other almost every single day in some interview or another........Two deeply troubled people..........

I saw the pair of them on The Graham Norton Show a while back and, even then, I realised these two are trying to live a dream money cannot buy (for example the over-the-top wedding). It takes more than a billion superstars to make a relationship work.
I understand Minelli's depression and alcohol problems but despite Gest admitting that his wife is beating him up, what is David gest's problems? Is there something I've missed?

If he came anywhere near my house I would probably beat him severely around the head too.
You know - I love Liza in Cabaret and Arthur and I dont deny she has had a crappy upbringing etc.
But she seriously needs to look at her mental health needs.
I was discussing this with a bunch of gay friends. We were trying to ascertain what it is in the family genetic make up that made Liza's maternal grandmother marry a gay man, then Judy married a gay man, then Liza manages to do it not once but twice.
Now I love all my gay buddies to death - and they love me - but I dont intend to marry any of them !
So what causes three generations of women to do this ?
