Subject: Matrix Revolutions--Warning: Spoilers!

Written By: Rice_Cube on 11/05/03 at 06:36 p.m.

Who's seen it yet?

My friend and I are going to see it as a Saturday matinee...I'm not so sure I want to pay full price for what critics say is a major suckfest :-/

Yeah, it was disappointing...I wanted to turn this into a discussion about the saga, please refer to my next post.

Critics have been bulls***ing us for years. Besides what else are you going to do with that money? I haven't seen it yet but will soon.

Never heard of it. ???

I know of Matrix, and Matrix Reloaded, but never heard of this one.

What is it exactly.

It's the third and final chapter in the Matrix trilogy.  It opened today :)

Wow, I got to get out more. :D

I thought the 2nd one was just out recently, or sort of recently.  I haven't seen any ads for this one.

You must be pretty isolated out there in Indiana.

No, I just thought the 2nd Matrix was just out not to long ago.  I just haven't noticed any TV ads for the new one.  Or, maybe I did and didn't pay much attention to them.

Sorry - I had to laugh - only cos the papers here have been commenting on how overly huge the promotion has been !!!

Even tho I am a huge Keanu fan - Matrix has never appealed to me so I havent seen any of them.  Maybe one day.

He was looking mighty mighty FINE on Tuesday with Rove.  And Jada was looking pretty cool herself.

Neither have I, nor did I have any clue as to it being out in theatres until I read this thread a few days ago and I'm not isolated.

Anyway, I did catch it at a matinee today.

I liked it much better than the second installment. The special effects were nothing short of spectacular. I found it much more comprehensible than the previous two and was satisfied with the way it palyed out. It ended, I believe, the only way it could have; which is without sacrificing the strength and respect for the characters. In my opinion, it is definitely worth the price of a matinee. :)

P.S. I say "matinee" because I feel movie theatre prices are outrageous.

My review it was ok.Not as boring as the second one.I loved the battle scenes between the robots and the sentinels.I wished they would have just made the first Matrix movie and ended it there.I give it 2 out of 4 stars.

I haven't seen any of the Matrix movies.  Just not my thing.

It wasn't bad really, but it wasn't good either. I'd give it 4.5 thumbs up out of a possible 7.85 thumbs up. I just wish they could do either Reloaded or Revolutions without unnecessary nudity. There's like one pointless nipple shot in each one, more in Reloaded. That's maybe the only reason that they are rated 'R', thus diminishing their desired audience quite a bit. The fight scenes are quite cool. And hey, if you liked or didn't like Matrix Reloaded, check out my 'Matrix Reloaded Guy' parody to the Sugar Ray song 'Fly'.

SPOILER!

So at the very end (and I'll try to keep this as ambiguous as possible so the people who've seen it know what's up but it won't give anything away to the people who want to see it still) it seems that in the climactic fight scene the good guy lost and the bad guy won but the good guy kept getting up and then it seemed like they cancelled each other out and the Matrix as usual was restored, but then what the heck happened to the "human" good guy as opposed to the "Matrix" good guy?  ???

I guess the creators wanted this to be an open-ended finale to the trilogy.  My friend says that they're leaving it open for a sequel despite them saying that this is the END.  So I'm still confused as to what this all means.

I think these sequels didn't do the original justice in terms of plot and character development, despite making oodles of money.

It definitely wasn't spectacular. There were a few scenes that were good, but nothing to get excited over. And yes, I bet you anything there will be another one. That ending is just begging for a sequel. ::)

Well, what could happen is that it happens in an infinite loop, like that vocabulary-spewing Architect dude was saying in Reloaded...see, they have to keep rebuilding Zion and they have to keep re-spawning the "One" so you could just watch the trilogy over and over again...and that would be the sequel.

;D

Yes yes, or they could kill the trilogy even more by making another, knowing full well that hardcore nerds fans will go see it. ;D

And I'd probably go see it myself...not that I'm a nerd or anything...http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons/22.gif

We must remember that if someone dies in the matrix, they die in their "real" life as well. I think it was explained in the first one.

As far as the ending begging for a sequel, I don't think it does. Neo effectively _______________ in order to save Zion.

I guess that last scene between "two of the major players", (not the main ones) could confuse the heck outta someone.
