Subject: 2003-04 NBA Season

Written By: RockandRollFan on 11/06/03 at 01:25 p.m.

Well, tonight Carmello Anthony of Denver takes on LeBron James in Cleveland....we shall see :D

Also: Kobe gets jeers in Milwaukee but the stupid Fakers win anyway ::)

AND I send my prayers out to former Knick Patrick Ewing, who said during the last strike that he was concerned how he was going to feed his children....hang in there Patrick....food doesn't cost millions although you may just have to sell some of your luxery cars and a house or two...after-all aren't your kids more important than your stupid greed??  THAT is my just one of my problems with the nba....thier players are the greediest in ALL sports!

Oh and...The Nuggets won!  :-/

Amen to that. I stopped watching basketball eight years ago. If Baseball doesn't cut their #$%! As much as I love the Yankees I'll stop supporting them too.

I despise the regular season in the NBA like I do for Baseball.  They are both excrutiatingly booooooring and dull.  I usually start watching come playoff time.

Thats why I am a college basketball guy.:)

RnRF you have a good point. Although Basketball is a good sport, but the NBA are a bunch of greedy pigs....not all but most.

Ill start watching basketball in Feburary or March. the start of the season is like a waste of time. About Greedy players they make so make so much money what do you expect? Actually I think why the NBA interests me the last 2 or 3 years was watching Iverson take the Sixers to the Finals in 01 with like no supporting players. In 2001 I was watching the Lakers play the Sixers It was like Tyrone Hill can you make at least one lay-up? I mean he blew every lay-up in that Game 4. What did he miss like 5 lay-up shots in that game? I also enjoy watching the New Jersey Nets actually make the NBA Finals twice after being a losing team for so many years.

About baseball the pace of the game bothers me. Can the game like a move a little faster. Still that Yankee's-Red Sox series this year was classic and one of the best playoff series of all time.

I really believe that Carmello is ahead of Le Bron for rookie of the year honors...so far...AND the Nuggets are off to thier best start after 12 games (7-5) since the 1989-90 season (8-4)...probably won't beat the Mavericks in Dallas tonight though :-/

Well Denver lost to Dallas a few days back but spanked them at the pepsi center last night in front of the largest crowd ever to see a sports event there!  Denver is off to a 9-6 start which is thier best since 1994-95...the last time they went to the playoffs, AND they are playing the game the way it was meant to be played...exciting and sportsmanlike...no trash talking, hanging on the rim, can't make a 10 foot jump shot..and they are scoring over 100 points quite often...none of this 73-65 Eastern Conference bore-fest crap ::)

To me, the NBA doesn't suck as much, just 1/4 of it does (the Atlantic). And not only because the Pacers, Pistons and the Western conference teams are beating the crap out of the pathetic Atlantic Conference teams. (The Pacers should have beating Boston, but the refs gave the Celts that one, and it's still no excuse to blow a double digit lead in the 3rd quarter.) I still believe the Nets are the cream of that Division, and they should break through some time. But right now the Division champ might get in with a losing reacord. ::)

Yeah whats up with the uniforms now in the NBA? The new CAVS, and Nuggets jersey's look like an NBA uniform from the 70's. I like NBA uniforms that were around from the early 80's to mid 90's period. I didn't like the Atlanta Hawks jersey's in the late 80's/early 90's. Those were kinda unusual looking with the big strip of red across the Jersey with the yellow outlining. The next uniforms they came out for the Hawks were better. Also the Indiana Pacers jersey's in the 80's were kinda corny looking. Other than that I liked NBA Jerseys in the early 80's-mid 90's period.

These were the old ABA Pacer jerseys, circa '71-'72, that Slick Leonard's team won one of three ABA titles with. It was just for their Retro Night, and they did play like the only team in winning big over the Knicks, I believe. I just hope they don't need these unis for an NBA title. ;)

I like what the Pacers are doing this season, but the Bulls made them look like the mid-80s losers of old. If I were Coach Carlisle, I'd look at that film footage for several hours to figure out what went wrong. When Artest and Jermaine O'Neal score in double figures and the Pacers lose, then I would be concerned. :-/

But better luck in 2004.

The Pacers looked good last year. In the second half of the season they just fell apart. To me if they want to win a championship Ron Artest has to stay in games and not get thrown out of them. He has been doing a better job of that this year than last year. Reggie Miller even now can take over a game. Don't sleep on Reggie.

Last night Denver rookie Carmello Anthony scored a lay-up with 6 seconds left and Marcus Camby secured the win by blocking a shot at the buzzer for a 99-98 win.  Denver now has won 16 games and lead the division by %  points over the Spurs!  Just 1 more victory will equal the Nuggets win total for ALL of last season....next up @ The Lakers on Friday :-/

The New Jersey Nets and San Antonio have been red hot in the last month or so. Watch out for those 2 teams.

The New York Kincks have been playing good lately. Keith Van Horn has been playing good ball for the Knicks lately. Inserting Frank Williams into the starting line-up has helped the Knicks dramatically over the last few weeks.

The Pacers seem to have the Hornets number this year. They've already won 3 games against New Orleans this season. You can say the Pacers play as well with the Hornets and 76ers as they've played horribly again Milwaukee (0-2 this year), and the Bucks aren't nearly as good as the Hornets. At least the Pacers finally got rid of that road jinx against Boston. :)

Well we enter the All-Star break. The New Jersey Nets are the hottest team in pro basketball under head coach Lawrence Frank. That Midwest Divsion is sure tough this year. I think Philly is the most dissapointing team this year while Memphs is the most surprising. Lebron James didn't make the All-Star Game? He should have made it.

The Celtics are very dissapointing this year. I think the Knicks are surprising people with new additions such as Stehon Marbury and head coach Lenny Wilkens. Isiah Thomas has done of a heck of a job in a short period of time with the knicks.

Watch out for Philly in the second half: As long as they have Iverson they will be in games. The Houston Rockets under Jeff Van Gundy are always competitive. Yoa Ming stood his ground against Shaq the other night. Portland will scare people with players like Sharif Abdul-Rahim, Daruis Miles, Zach Randoulph, and Damon Stoudamire.

And I am glad that the Pacers' Fred Jones won the Slam-Dunk competition, even though the quality of dunks has dropped off substantially and Jason Richardson missed all 4 of his dunks in the finals. I was hoping Jones would use the RWB ball for his last dunk. Maybe it could have made this contest more memorable. But it doesn't take away anything from Jones or his accomplishments. ;D

But, of course, they have to play the remaining games on the schedule. The Pacers forgot that last night, and played arguably their worst game at home, 89-75 to the mediocre New Orleans Hornets. Looks like it could be deja-vu all over again. >:(
