Subject: Hillary lays a turkey

Did anybody catch Hillary's speech or appearances in Iraq last week?

What I find amazing is 1) why this "lady" is still a US Senator and 2) why anybody takes her seriously.

When I heard she had been elected to the Senate to a state that she had not lived in for over 20 years, I gave her the benefit of the doubt.  I gave her a clean slate from everything that had been said about her in the past, and decided to judge her on what she did since being ellected.  And sadly, they make her look kindly and nice in the past.

I watched her during the 2001 State Of The Union speech, where she stood and grimaced and never applauded even once.  Then again during the 2002 state of the union, she did the same thing, at a time we were still trying to recover from 9/11.

Also during a Memorial service at Yankee Stadium, I was shocked to see her stone faced and *NOT* singing the national anthem!  I mean, come on!  Here she was at a service to those lost, and she did not even have the decency to pretend she cared.

To me the final straw was last week when she went to Iraq.  I saw her speach, and am amazed that the soldiers were as polite to her as they were.  Heck, her speach was practically schitzophrenic from what I have seen and heard of it.

SHe would bounce from how the war was wrong and they should not be there, immediately to how the President was wrong for not sending enough people.  She even brought up the idea of conscription!

If there is anything the military does NOT want, is another draft.  Heck, since the 1980's they have normally had to turn away people because there were not enough openings.  Now she is talking about a draft, just like the one her husband evaded 30 years before.  I really wonder about her sanity.

I am still undecided if her being eclipsed by Bush is a good thing or not.  It may be bad, because more people could have seen her "inspiring speech" to the troops.  I know if I had been there, I would have been greatly offended.

I second that emotion.
