Subject: How's The Weather Up/Down There?

Written By: Indy Gent on 12/17/03 at 04:12 p.m.

So far, Indy has had it good in the snow department. There have been instances where we have gotten temperatures in the teens, but no major cold snaps. But winter doesn't officially begin until the 22nd or 23rd. So what is the expected weather this winter?

We're getting a lot of rain this year. Cold rain too.

Will be in NYC for Christmas, hope the weather gives us a break.  Have seen NYC once b4 with about a 2 inch cover of fresh snow, one of the prettiest cities I've ever seen, would be perfect for X-mas this year.  Please make arrangements for this, Howard.

Yesterday was pretty yucky. It rained and was starting to freeze on the roads-but then it turned to snow. We only got about 2 inches of very wet and heavy snow. We went out this morning it was very pretty. The sky was still grey and the branches of the trees were hanging low from the weight of the snow on them. This is the third snow storm we have had this month-who know if we will get more.

As for Christmas Eve and Day, it's going to be raining! That hasn't happened here for a long time.  >:(

Its been like 30 degrees in New Jersey over the past few days. I dislike this weather. We have had a little rain this past week but nothing major. Sometimes I wish I lived in Florida. What can you do Jersey is my home. A few more months and it will start to heat up hopefully.

I would love to experience a white Christmas - I would be happy just to see snow sometime.  All the Christmas carols you hear this time of year all about snow and winter are funny to listen to, when you have Christmas in 32-40 degree (celsius) heat.  We BAKE during our Christmas (and I'm not talking about the Turkey, I'm talking about the guests!!).

39 degrees (celcius) in Brisbane today - that's near to 100 degrees F.

And given our location, we always have lots of humidity to go with it.

This is the sole reason why Christmas makes me feel  >:( >:( >:(

It really would be a blessing to be able to do this in Winter - I will happily swap anyone in the Northern Hemisphere on this aspect ANYDAY  :o ;)

Aw Fuss - it's not that bad!!  I'd prefer it hot than cold.   Mind you it does help that our bedroom and TV room are air conditioned 8)  The only thing that really worries me on hot Christmas days is the possibility of food poisoning.  All that seafood - you have to be so careful about storage :(   We always end up having to throw out so much food because you wouldn't dare take the chance of eating leftovers.

I definetly am not missing the bitter cold of Massachusetts!!!!

I feel bad for all my friends and family who are still there though!!!

And oh man, I watched the Pats game they played at Foxboro,....2 degrees?! No thanks, I'll just keep my nice Vegas weather.

However, I know that this summer is going to be brutal on me when it comes!!!! Last summer I heard it got up to about 112 degrees here. I'm nervous, I'm only used to 80 degree heat with 100% humidity!!! Vegas is dry but getting up in the 120s?! Thats gonna be like opening an oven for me!!!

I love it here though!!! Anyone who has the chance to come to Vegas better jump on that chance!!!

In the words of Robin Williams "HOT DAMN HOT"

Its been foul here basically non stop since Xmas.  We havent had a day under 90 for that whole time and way too many days over 100 for my liking.  We had a very sticky nasty night of 84 the other week which was seriously uncomfy.
Last weekend was just plain vile - Saturday was 103 and Sunday 105 and same forcast for Friday and Saturday this week.

Last sunday during the 105 - I decided to see what my balcony temp was because it really cops the heat all afternoon.  So I put a glass thermometre out there and in just a few minutes it hit 122 before shattering into a million pieces !!  I actually bew up a thermometre !.

I am off to Melbourne for the next two weeks so I really hope the temps are lower there (PLEASE!! I need some sleep !).

Roll on winter.  I cant handle another 3 months of this.

In Perth I hate Dec thru to March.  The rest of the year is delightful.
