I liked Mountain High and other Dick and DeeDee songs, was a small kid when they were popular, nice harmonies, young clean cut teens.  Sorry he died, were he and DeeDee still togehter, were they ever a couple?

Hey, Marian... you need to edit your sig line a bit. The screen is too wide with all that stuff down there.

Marian, can you please trim down your sig line a little bit. It's way too long and it makes the screen extra wide!

That's extremely sad news, Marian...thanks for letting us know...

Dick teamed up with DeeDee (who was Mary Sperling) at Santa Monica College at the start of the 60's. I don't think they were ever a 'couple', so to speak - just a pair of budding songwriters demo-ing their songs...

One of these 'demos', 'The Mountain's High', was originally issued as a B-side, but became a monster hit in San Francisco when DJ's flipped it. At this point, Liberty records purchased the master and broke it nationally - it was only at Liberty's insistence that the duo became known as Dick & DeeDee...

It was also a minor-ish hit here...do try and get a copy if you can, it's a classic from the 'innocent age'...

Not quite sure what it'd fall under, Howard (doo-wop it certainly ain't!)...sort-of light and breezy pop with some slightly odd (but very nice) harmonising...(if that helps!)
