Subject: Apple iPod Battery - Karen Nicoletti

Written By: athornton2970 on 01/15/04 at 06:08 a.m.

I'm new to this, but I was looking on the MTV page and saw a story about Karen Nicoletti and her problems with the iPod she had paid $400 for just over a year ago. The iPod battery goes out after about 1 1/2 years and the battery is not easily replaceable.

Apple is charging $99 to replace the battery, but when you send it to them, if the battery is capable of holdin a charge of 40% or more, they won't replace the battery.

I ran across a company that will replace the battery for $69.95 + shipping and quarantee it. That sure beats sending the iPod back to Apple and then finding out they won't replace it or if they do, they'll charge you $99.

The don't have a web site yet, but the company e-mail is logoexpress1@hotmail.com.

Since there have been 1.4 million iPods sold by Apple and many of the batteries are starting to fail, replacing the battery for $69.95 looks like a pretty good alternative to buying a new iPod for $300 or sending it in to Apple and not knowing if the will replace the battery or not.

I love my iPod, and I had the battery replaced, and it is ready to go for another 2 years.
