Subject: Howard Dean Freaks Out

Written By: bj26 on 01/20/04 at 07:10 a.m.

Howard Dean came in a distant 3rd in Iowa with 17% of the vote, and he went balistic, screaming about getting back to No.1. It sounded like he needed to clear his throat, he kept yelling all the names of the States he was going to win.  He sounded like Brian Johnson of ACDC screaming. "For those about to rock (change "rock" to Vote) we salute you!"  Anyone hear him, was hilarious - "FAI-YAH!"

Man, Dr. Dean got SPANKED in Iowa:

Kerry:  38%
Edwards: 32%
Dean:  18%

Looks like Dean's 15 minutes are almost up.

As for Gephardt, who came in 4th, he was organized labor's choice pick.  After losing just one state (Iowa) he has thrown in the towel.  So much for the "clout" of labor these days.

This might not mean anything.  Bush lost the first primary too, during the last election.

Of course, Bush never did anything as entertaining as this.  Mispronounced words holds no candle to a full-blown freak out.

Dean's rousing speech is gonna get replayed almost as much as that ridiculous video of Michael Dukakis wearing the Army helmet back in 1988.  ;D

The best thing that vcame out of the Iowa caucus is that Dick Gephardt dropped out of the race. I hope Dean is next to drop out. He sounds like he wants a coup de ta if he doesn't get the nod. :-/

That man is in serious risk of having a stroke!  I'll have to see if I can find it, somewhere there is a close-up of the veins popping out all over his head/neck.

Due, you all shoulda caught Conan last night.  He did one of his fake interviews with Dean, it went something like this:

"So, why such an enthusiastic tone at a time when it seems you've just suffered a huge setback?"
"To hide the fact that I'm STEAMING ANGRY!!!  And FOAMING AT THE MOUTH!!! And FURIOUS!!!  And UTAH!!!  And SOUTH CAROLINA!!!  And NEBRASKA!!!  And NEVADA!!! And SOUTH NEVADA!!! And..."
"Senator Dean, maybe you should calm down..."
"How can I calm down when I've had so much COFFEE!!!  And CAFFEINE PILLS!!!  And ANABOLIC STEROIDS!!!  And CRACK!!!  And PIXY STICKS!!!"

Even stone faced Dan Rather called attention to Dean's antics on the news and ran footage of him yelling and whooping.  I made sport of it on this thread also.  However, Dean as well as the other candidates have made it pretty far in life, they are supposedly the best we have.  Whoever we elect will be managing, guess you could say, the world.  I just hope these are good men and do good for us. They will make mistakes like humans tend to do.

If he becomes totally psycotic after finishing a measly 3rd, I would hate to see him had we actually won.

Fuuuhreak!

Yes, but maybe that was taken out of context,
maybe he usually isn't like that.

I didn't think Dean's performance in that speech was anything to notice at all. He was just showing a bit of emotion. What's the big deal about that? I hardly paid attention, to be honest.

I saw that; it was hilarious.  I also liked his "interviews" with Rev. Al Sharpton, who was claiming the words "caucus" and "primary" were discriminatory.  "pri-MARY!  MARY had a little lamb...what color was the lamb? huh?"

We have something similar over here, with Neil Kinnock's "victory rally" in Sheffield... just before he, er, lost the election - balding fiftysomethings shouldn't try to play the rock star.

I was at a CPAC (Conservative Political Action conference) this weekend and the Ultimate Warrior was there and he did his impression of Dean during the speech...it was priceless
