I'm not sure.  It is all I can do to keep up with the volume of firiends/posters here on the Decades Messageboards.

If you do find a big board, dont forget to keep posting here!  I always look forward to reading your posts and ideas...  ;)

Try searching for message boards that pertain to your interests.

As Curtis said, you have to find a community that meets your interests.  Go to Google.com & search for "message boards" "(insert your interest)".

A good community is one that is well moderated. beware of ones that 'claim' moderation, but allow all kinds of crap talk anyway. If you like the Miami Dolphins I can reccomend a good community ;) . Small, but quality. If you like movies, some of the Cinescape message boards are pretty well moderated. The General Movie board is well moderated there.

There aren't many generic messageboard communities on the web, each one generally is focused on something. I could point you to a couple that are far larger than this one, but I don't think people make friends there.

http://www.f--ckedcompany.com has a very active messageboard, but it's filled with hate/slander/sex you name it. Probably the busiest board I've ever seen.  Everyone is anonymous for a good reason.

http://www.fark.com is focused around funny news headlines, and the posting is in the form of commenting on the headlines approved by the site. Not much worth reading in the comments section really. http://www.slashdot.com is similar, but only technology related stuff.

http://www.snopes.com and http://www.straightdope.com revolve around urban legends and fact finding, and have gigantic communities to support them.  They are probably more friendly than the other two, but I haven't visited their forums in ages, so I don't know what they're like really anymore.

Large messageboard? There's several I can think of off the top of my head. But community? For the worst crimes in history against the unwritten law of non-communitism, this board really should be... what's the word... oh yes, prisoned. ;)
