Sadly, Teresa Francesca Matarese Scibilia, the original "Contadina Lady" whose picture was on all those tomato paste cans, has passed away.
When I was growing up, she was one of those icons like Aunt Jemima, Mr. Clean, and Mrs. Butterworth. :P
