http://bushin30seconds.org/

This is a website I was linked to about a contest where people made 30sec. movies (ads) against George W. Bush.  There are 26 total, but 5 are shown on the front page.

I just want to know people's opinions about these.  I myself, think they're all brilliant.

I actually think they're pretty funny, even though they only show one side of the issue.  It's not as simplistic as the ad-makers made it out to be :)

I love reading the Boondocks, btw...these ads are sorta in the spirit of that comic, the author gets away with so much, it's hilarious :D

Welcome to America, land where you can make fun of your elected leaders without fear of having your intestines turned into a Double-Dutch jumprope :D

This is affiliated with moveon.org.  A couple of months ago the RNC was claiming Move On produced ads comparing Bush to Hitler.  In fact, it was only a couple of submissions to bushin30seconds.org.  Neither submission was even considered for the prize.
Chr*st, it's going to be a LOOONG campaign season.
:P

I didn't play the clips, but I looked at the photos and they were funny in a way.  :)

We have some lovely candidates here in Blighty:

Bliar
Dracula
The ginger drunkard
That BNP racist dressed up as a party candidate
The loony Green guy (FOR GOODNESS' SAKE, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH G.M. CROPS, PEOPLE!!!)....

Dracula would get my vote, though.

OK @sskicker, how about filling a Yank on Brit politics.  What does BNP stand for?, and  who's the "ginger drunkard?"

Some people are a bit too alarmist about G.M. foods, or "Frankenfoods."  There IS, however, reason for great concern on two fronts:
1. The unpredictable effects of genetic modification on plant species, the environment in which they are grown, and the animals and people who eat them.  Genetic engineering is still a new science, and they should proceed with utmost caution.
2. The patenting of GM seeds by predator corporations such as Monsanto, and the strong arming tactics used by such corporations against farmers.  Monsanto, ADM, and other companies obligate farmers worldwide to use only their seeds, and take legal action against farmers who break the contract, or use GM patented seeds without paying the corporation.
3. The loss of biodiversity due to GM seeds and monoculture farming may lead to terrible famine should the soils become devastated or the GM crops begin to fail.  If farmers don't have access to alternative strains of wheat, rice, potatoes, or whatever, an unforseen genetic mutation may wipe out much land and people.
