Subject: Father's Day Songs

Written By: zcrito on 05/02/04 at 3:30 pm

Let's don't forget our Pappy.  :-[

Father's Day is on June, 20th.

FD songs are a little more difficult to find, but here's what I got...

Color Him Father - The Winstons (1969)
A Boy Named Sue - Johnny Cash (1969)
-- "Thanks, Dad!"
Holiday Road - Lindsey Buckingham
-- Reminds me of vacations with short-tempered dad: "Don't make me stop this car!" (Or maybe your dad was more like Clark Griswold)
Beautiful Boy - John Lennon (1980)

Did I miss a few?  ???

:D

If you want to go the whole hog (i.e., sentimentality...), then you can't go far wrong with Paul Petersen's 'My Dad'...be careful though, it's a tad sickly...

Not sentimental, but does have 'Father' in the title...

'Son Of My Father' - Chicory Tip or Giorgio Moroder's very odd version...

'Father's Name Is Dad' - The Fire (wonderful piece of pop-psych...)

My Dad:  Paul Peterson....just great. If you have or had a Dad that you really loved listen to this song.

Also: I'd Give Anything I Own:  Bread....another outstanding ode to a father....... in fact it was David Gates' own deceased father about whom he wrote this song.

No, it's not her but I can't think of who it is off hand. But I know it's not her.
